I've put a new SFM theme TremPlus together, based on main site layout.
You can test it before I reset the forum default, just change your theme in your forum profile settings.
-
Pink granger theme. Go.
-
I think it needs further work
1) The "lighter grey" for odd posts is a bit too bright IMO
2) Text is getting into those metallic borders
3) Quote display would use a bit of work
4) Text in general could be more spaced out (between lines)
5) Heading says "Hello Asvarox" though "Asvarox" is 1/2 of "Hello" size which looks quite bad.
-
Over by the board name in the index, I just noticed that it displays the name of the post instead of the thread. Bug or feature?
EDIT: Also, why does modding releases human look away; I feel shunned
-
I agree what Asvarox says. Also if possible, can you make text little bit larger, it seems to be quite small in my opinion. Otherwise its awesome.
@ Ingar: How long this theme is avaible? This day or two or more?

Because it saw dretch that is incoming, and it will probably eat him.
-
@Asvarox:
Yes. Also, the post preview is disturbingly black.
@Dr. A. Goon:
Post name instead of thread name is a feature, it seems the current default forum theme doesn't do it,
but the SMF default theme does (which I have been using).
The human on the mod release board is the icon for "new post in subforum".
Unfortunatly, I don't have a decent granger render, or I'd probably use that.
@CorSair:
I hope to mold this theme into a decent default theme, so I don't plan on removing it ;D
-
If you're going to get together a new theme, care to add a report button to temp-trem? Its just one little button!
I really like the top and borders of the new theme. The "new posts"/"no new posts" thing could use some work, the dretches (no new posts) draw a similar amount of attention, and perhaps more attention than the humans (new posts), which is awkward.
-
Put the name of topic starter under topic name instead of a separate column.
-
The posts have scrollbars.
-
(A.) The theme should use 90% screen width to match the other pages on trem.net, and (B.) the quote boxes seem to extend past the column they're in as shown here (http://i.imgur.com/vb0fr.png) (http://imgur.com/vb0fr)
-
Someone specified quote width in pixels as opposed to percent block width : )
-
Uh and yeah, that doesn't really concerns me that much, but I think forum width should be specified by pixels, not percents. I've heard that "relative" sites can be annoyingly hard to read on widescreen monitors (one line of text takes 3-4 sentences). It also gives more control on how the site is displayed on different computers and makes main page and the forum "glue" even more which is neat.
Other than that I really like the theme :)
-
Matching the width of the main site and keeping the dragoon at the correct location
proves to be extremely difficult. This theme business is rather tedious work.

Perhaps you're only a developer because you're the only one willing to do the work... ;)

can I please click on the banner to go home. :(

Welcome to version 0.2.
Notable changes:
- Swapped dretch and human icons
- Less black, and less contrast in threads
- Some more yellow
- Fixed some broken font sizes
- Prevented Quotes and Code blocks from overflowing
- Merged Subject and Posted By columns
Not yet fixed:
- width issues
-
You can no longer click the "new" button to go to the latest post you have not read.
[EDIT: Just realised, every thread is marked as new, even if it has no new posts.]
-

Heh, it's bugged too: it show 'new' everywhere. Will be fixed in the next update.
-
Show unread posts since last visit. ?
-
Show unread posts since last visit. ?
That works fine, I moved the "new" icon but I didn't move the actual link around it.
Update
The new icon should work now as well as the button to collapse the header.
I've set it as default theme.
-
Could you possibly change the contrast between the darker grey of every other post and the lines before and after the body of the post so that they are not invisible? it will make a friend :basilisk: appear w/ :granger:
-
I still miss the old blue theme.

I still miss the old blue theme.
You can still use it, just choose whatever theme you like in your account settings.
(see preview picture in the first post)
-
It looks like the beginning of a nice theme. A few gripes though. Besides the width issue,

^ This area on the main forum page needs some attention. The today/yesterday highlight could be either changed to a different color that stands out more or made a larger font. Alternatively have the "last post" not highlighted. As it is there are too many highlights in too small an area.
-
The theme has a broken [ list]. The "abcd" below should look roughly like:
a
b
c
d
but instead it shows as:
-
You should add a horizontal line before the post content.
Also margins are too large it wastes too much space.
IMHO you should apply the color theme to SMF default theme

Where do you mean with before the post content?

It is the line after the title and before the sig
it is the one that I asked you to change the contrast of
possibly on even posts you could have dark grey for the main color and the light grey as the lines if possible
then the light grey for odd posts and the dark grey for the lines
:granger: ;D

There seems to be a problem with quoting bold text. Example
ah, my bad.
my bad should be bold
-
It either got fixed or it's something on your side as it looks fine for me ("my bad" is bold in the quoteblock).
-

It works with other profiles. I dunno where the problem lies.

The styling of .quote b is correct (font-weight: bolder), but not getting applied because of the size, x-small, which is probably bad anyway. Don't play with the size of quoted text and bold text will be bold.
-
Mmmkay, basic PEBCAC it is then. The bold comes back when I hit ctrl +. Oddly enough I didn't think my text was all that small.
-
I'm not sure how many features are still being ported, but just FYI, the {list} tag doesn't work.
-
- Fixed lists (they have a bullet now)
- Corrected the colour of the header/body/signature dividers in posts
-
Woo, lists
-
It's obnoxious how the indicator for a thread with new posts is sandwiched between the thread author's name and the number of pages. It makes it hard to spot threads with fresh posts.

Indeed, I have been having this problem, too.
-
It's always been like that...
-
True, but the [NEW] button for TremPlus kinda blends in with the background, so having it after everything would be better. Alternatively, make it more visible.

Also, the shade of brown for a new topic is extremely close to an old topic.
-
At the moment the message index looks like the attached screenshot.
(That is, in my development environment)
I think it's better, I'm just not sure yet if it is best.
-
Agreeing with "the New icon is too small and blends in too much", but it is a minor gripe with what is otherwise an excellent job. Thanks for the hard work.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Great work Ingar!
-
I love that you are putting effort into the forum so thanks for that. The text, however, is very hard to read.... Perhaps make it bigger. There's something with the contrast which isn't quite right for the eyes.
Thanks!
PS. From a color scheme perspective, it looks great :)
-

agreed but (sane) people don't read posts on forums (for hours).
you should do the same
-
the banner at the top should be a link to the index page.
-
I messed a bit with the board and messageindex,
the yellow official star replaces the "new" icon :P
-
I liked the previous one more to be honest... :-\
-
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the star. I don't think it's intuitive enough.
-
Well, what he could do is put the NEW in the official star. I'm not sure how that would look though.
-
I think putting the star where currently the turret is would work well. Not sure where to put turret though, I'd remove it all together as I don't think it's that useful. Or it could switch - if there are new posts, use a star that would take you to the first new post, if there aren't - use a turret that'd take you to the latest post.
Uh and yes I'm a fan of "NEW" button too, though I'd really like to see the above idea in action.

Amen, brother.

A very interesting propopsal, thanks :)
