Tried connecting to a gpp server tonight and kept getting this error. I go to my folders and delete the map, but it tries to redownload it when I connect.

Got to the command console [`/~]
Type /cl_allowdownload 1
Enter it
Then it should download, and the new download should work.

It was already enabled still not working
-
try
lookupd -flushcache || dscacheutil -flushcache
then try again.
if it still doesn't work, try setting your primary name server to 4.2.2.1 or temporarily adding 69.175.114.215 downloads.mercenariesguild.net
to your hosts file

The server host (I think) has to set the base url to mercenaries guild as downloads.tremulous.net (http://downloads.tremulous.net) doesn't exist. The only thing you can do is download the map manually.

Oh true. I need to start actually reading posts before I respond.
I think downloads.tremulous.net might be the default set in the config that comes with the gpp installer, but it has never (yet) existed.

Downloaded the map manually from the MG site and it's working. Thanks.

Perhaps temporarily redirect it to downloads.mercenariesguild.net? That way, new server owners won't have to change anything.
