So then all you have to do is end the world before next thursday. That way, it must have come out today.

So, 10 more years until we equal the record and 11 until we beat it.

Of course, it all makes sense now. It's the day before: Thursday 20.12.2012! 2012 appears twice!! Also 2012 looks like Lolz!!!

Clearly the devs are kind enough to give us at least one day of 1.2 before the world implodes.

That's partially true, due to the reason Duke Nukem Manhattan Project being developed after Duke Nukem 3D. Also, in 2009 DN:F was cancelled but was picked up by Gearbox only in 2010.
