i downloaded tremoules on ubunto but i dont know where to install it plz help

Just install it to somewhere in your home directory, something like /home/halocrusher13/games/tremulous might be good(obviously replacing halocrusher13 with your actual username), then install the gpp to the same place.

Open your terminal, run this.

sudo apt-get install tremulous

Tremulous should show up in your games list.

I wouldn't recommend installing it from the repos, has the potential to break things.

This works if you'll only be playing 1.1, but it makes it a lot harder to update your 1.1 client because it spreads everything around the filesystem. It also makes it near impossible to install GPP.

Not really. All you have to do is copy the contents of the tremulous-gpp.zip into /usr/share/games/tremulous and then duplicate the tremulous start script in /usr/games. Using the run file is a pain--I wouldn't recommend using that.
