Title: Bending pipes.
Post by: Mwa on August 10, 2006, 12:34:12 am
I've not yet worked out how to bend a pipe in radiant.
Pretty much no pipe on any of the main maps I've seen is just a straight pipe. They allways bend at some point, gracefully and smoothly.
But I can't work out how to do it. Dx
Help?

the magic of 'v'

build an extra bit where you want the bend and press the wonder full 'v' the rest is easy, have fun.

Make a second small  cylinder at the point where you wish to bend the pipe, and have both ends of the pipe ready
Then drag the verticies to the same point on the second pipe, and it'll bend.
You'll need to fiddle with the center verticies too tho.

my two cents:
use 'V' to call for vertices editing then select the vertices you want by pointing or doing a drag selection over them.
Find here the decomposition of a regular bended pipe creation:
An important point is to keep aligned to the grid.

I hope this helps.
