Title: Tremulous on a Proxy?
Post by: GeneralScott on October 05, 2011, 05:16:10 pm
So somebody I know's dad just turned on Parental Controls so that he can't use the internet past 9:00 PM. Which sucks because we never play earlier than that usually. Is there some way to play Trem though a proxy or otherwise bypass parental controls to play Trem? It's router based controls and he's on Ubuntu.

Log into the router and disable it?  Odds on the password is something like password or admin or whatever.

Failing that, change the mac address and the router will see it as a new computer, and probably default to no controls.

Of course the correct answer is that you should punch him for being such a twat that they had to do this.
If he'd been responsible in the first place they'd never have bothered.  Bypassing it is just proving them right, I hope he gets caught and they confiscate his PC.

The age-old "someone I know" ::)

Listen to your parents GeneralScott, they probably know the best for you.

Actually it isn't me. I don't want to say who it is because they told me not to tell everyone. Thanks though anyway.
