Title: Armor & weapons textures
Post by: ormindo on December 01, 2011, 09:52:49 pm
Hullo !

I've started looking a little at textures in Tremulous. I'd love to create a few on my own for weapons and armors (started with blaster/rifle, standard armor).

However, it is sometimes hard to notice the outline, even by brightnening the texture.
Is there any "void skin" for the textures ? (roughly the outline of the textures) ?

If not, how do you do your own textures ? Make it wholy by hand ?

You could:
1. get blender (http://www.blender.org/)
2. find an md3 import script for it
3. import the model
4. right-click on the imported model to select it
5. TAB to go to edit mode
6. change window type to UV/Image editor
7. UVs menu -> Export UV layout

Ironic though considering it just copied what I said previously in this thread in response to what was actually a competent context bot.
