Hi everyone!

I'd like to bring your attention to our Unvanquished (http://unvanquished.net/) project, which you may or may not have heard of over the last couple of weeks. Our site is up, development (https://github.com/TremZ/Unvanquished/commits/master) is continuing as normal, and we now have our own forums (http://unvanquished.net/forum/forum.php) ready. A more in-depth blog post explaining things can be found here. (http://unvanquished.net/forum/entry.php/6-Welcome-to-Unvanquished)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Also, i wish that blackout map was re-playable on other qvms and on unvanquished (the game, not the mod of course) good old memories  :'(

Wait...is this something for Tremz or Tremulous?

Tremz is more or less dead, thanks to volt assuming control and kicking just about everyone out, this is the fork that's still being developed and which you should pay attention to, even if it does have a shitty name.

^just a small nugget of the awsomeness that was "unvanquished" the first time around.

ind33d. a properly chosen, unique name would be even much more better.

Enter Eckleck, the friendly troll...

Well... I suppose it's great that you're doing this and all, but I simply gotta ask...
WHY!? Why did you do it!? What in the world could possibly motivate you to do such a thing!? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!!

..

Why did you put emphasis on the 'q'!? It totally messes up the emphasis. Un-vain-KWISHED, instead of Un-VAN-kwished. You're killing me, guys, killing me!!.

Anyways, good job so far. I just hope you remember to add a coffee machine for granger (:granger:), because, as we all should know, TremulousUnvanquished Needs Coffee (tm)!!

Good night, and remember to drink and emphasize responsibly.

P.S. I know it's ages too late for this, but if I had known about the poll, I might have recommended the name Quaver/Quavus/Quaverous/Enquavus/something along those lines, rooted in the word "Quavering", which is a synonym of "Tremulous". I personally find "Unvanquished" to be a bit of a mouthful. It takes longer to say than "Tremulous", and can't be shortened (e.g. "Trem"). The 'q' is an uncommon consonant - perhaps I could place the (probably bs) argument that it poses a stumbling block while speaking (which I find hilariously ironic while looking at your logo, and of course it nullifies my own suggestion).

Long story short, it's not easy to use in aural conversations :D

There is no emphasis on the Q, it's just in blue for stylistic reasons.

Also, we've mostly been using "Unv" as the shortening.

Also also, there's a chance that we'll rename it once we hit beta, if someone can think of a great name by then. However, the name will have to be permanent after that, since GitHub only allows a single name change.

Lastly, our second alpha release is out on April 1st. I think our trend here is going to pick holidays or other days of significance for releases. The very first release was on February 29th, Leap Day. Our second release will be on April Fools Day. Perhaps we'll use May 1st, May Day, for the third release date. I can't think of any holidays in early June, but I'm sure we'll find something wonderfully obscure by then.

It different from the other letters: it is blue. It therefore appears emphasized. For the hell of it, I challenge you thus:

Quote
...stylistic reasons.

Name ur reasons!! (evil laughter)

As for "Unv"... say it out loud. Unv. Unv. Unv. Unv. Unvuh. Unvuh. lololololololol..... XD

Sorry.

As for June, how about Father's day (June 19th for Canada)? Download Unvanquished, teach your old man to shoot some aliens! Yeah. And maybe take out the trusty old bazooka rifle and shoot down some people squirrels and stuff (while pretending their aliens of course).

Or maybe take a bunch of squirrels, drop them in a vat of toxic waste, hope they live, send them off into the wild, and then hunt them.

Or teach your dad adoration for Granger.

Or you could invent a holiday - "International Granger Day", and release it then.

The possibilities are not quite endless, perhaps a couple dozen more, maybe only a few, maybe 1 or 2, 3 or 4, 7 or more, as many cookie's as are in my oven, as many fingers and toes on my person (19), as many eyes on that squirrel you dropped into that vat of toxic waste, AS HIGH AS THE FRIGGEN SKY!!!

Or we could all just take a nap.

Flooding seldom has anything to do with trolling. Just saying.

I have no problems pronouncing that and I'm very far from being natively English.
Perhaps we'll use May 1st, May Day, for the third release date.
MAYDAY! MAYDAY! THE COMMUNISTS ARE COMING!

Or you could delete old account, place new account. I'm pretty sure you can keep an old record of old commits.

Let me acquaint you with a new acronym! (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=rtfm) I think the second paragraph is most relevant.

It's an entirely new game, just like TremZ. Except they have actually released something so far.
