It's funny how people see something that openly mocks it's own genre and then they crudely reference it and call the result a parody. Like how Scary Movie was a "parody" (note the scare quotes) of Scream.
That's not parody: It's just imitation.
-
And yet wikipedia states that parody is just that, imitation.

Though some definitions of the word 'parody' might reduce it to simply a synonym of 'imitation' I'm using the more particular definition that the first sentence of that page you linked to uses where it is 'created to mock, comment on or trivialise an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target'. Not just mere imitation.
Also note that mocking the same thing the work was mocking and mocking the work itself are two different kinds of 'imitation' (see figure 1).

fig.1 - Ducky Diagram
A mocks the ducky first. Did B see the ducky and mock it too? Or is B just copying A, without even noticing the ducky?
Yes, I can see that maybe this video just meant imitation (which it clearly is) but I just get frustrated when people seem to miss that the original thing was a joke because it's somehow less blatant than their brand of humour.

An african or a european duck?
