Title: We lost a good tremulous player.
Post by: vcxzet on January 10, 2013, 04:51:00 am
Flynn electrocuted himself while trying to fix an old server for his friend. He survived 8 days in the hospital. But he died yesterday due to multiple organ failures.
He was a dedicated tremulous player, a hardware enthusiast  and more importantly a kind person.
You will always be remembered my friend.
Good night

Bringing sad news to the already dying forum makes me sadder...
What's his username? (if it's not "Flynn")

eh, it's win/win.

either:

this is a false report, and an attempt to be ironically funny.  in which case the OP is not, but the responses are...

-or-

somebody actually received a fatal shock while working on a computer. in which case, the computers and people who want them fixed are marginally better off.  a darwin award in our midst, if you will.

You are not even remotely funny. He had a wife and a daughter. Thanks to god they dont have to see your insensitive comments.

pardon my skepticism until proof is provided.  i have been unable to find any instances of even this sort of death in my own searchings, let alone recent occurrences.  i have found death due to organ failure days later, but each of those cases involved high tension wires, not household current.

and to repeat myself:  if you are fatally shocked while working on a computer, you are a fucking moron and deserve it.  you were either working on the machine with it plugged in, or yo cracked open the power supply and managed to get the capacitors to discharge into you.  just to reemphasize, if you do either of these things, you are the biggest blithering idiot in the history of blithering idiocy.

and to top it off, i seriously doubt garion cares what people he'll never come into contact with (and may not even exist) think about his insensitive comments.

WRONG. i've heard a story:

a service person from IBM was on a job to fix something in an other company's building. the person saw an unplugged power cable, and decided to plug it in. immediately he heard a scream coming from a nearby room -- a local computer technician got electrocuted. then it was apparent that the cable was unplugged for a reason: to allow safe computer repair work.

after this incident, all IBM personnel were banned from building. and this ban was made known not only to the porter, but to all workers in that other company.

i can't seem to find the story via a web search, though.

hearsay is not proof.

also, randomly plugging cables in is fucking stupid.

your story reeks of apocrypha.  you know, like those sites that have collections of "real" tech support stories.

That's a pretty crude sentiment to have. I don't think anyone deserves to die.

EVERYONE deserves death, because as humans, we all will die someday.  the trick is to try to die with some dignaty.  ever read about the guy killed because he had a horse fuck him?  he will (literally) never live it down.  his last act was beyond stupid, and that is how he shall be remembered.  this is the same type of situation.  assuming there is even a shred of truth to the story.

Just because people are going to die it doesn't mean they deserve it...

vcxzet, Flynn was a regular player on server W. We intend to run the server in his name for a week but can't rely on your news solely. Do you have anything else which supports Flynn is no more? An obituary maybe? Thanks.

sure it does.  everyone deserves an end to life, for the alternative is not something almost no organism can handle.  to keep living as your body passes the tolerance of cellular replication would be about the worst torture i could wish on anybody.

see what i did there?  i went from my initial statement which could be a synonym of "he did not deserve to live" and made a statement with the same words, but in this case deserving to doe does not mean the same as not deserving to live.

Yes, we see what you did there. You went from babbling shit to a full-on chronic case of verbal diarrhea.

Everyone does deserve to die as everyone is born sinful. However, through Jesus Christ we can be accepted, redeemed, forgiven and given purpose in this life here on earth.

incorrect.  the fundamentalist christian view is that everybody indeed deserves to die because of being born into sin, UNTIL they accept jesus as their personal savior, repent, and be baptized in the name of jesus.  by doing so they "deserve" everlasting life.  remember:  "the wages of sin is death."

that is not what i believe however.  i simply believe that living things deserve an end.

that's what I said! THROUGH Jesus Christ (meaning He is the way the truth and the life, we therefore have to go through Him, by accepting Him as our personal savior and repenting of our sinful past to be "born again" and be accepted.) And He gives us purpose and redeems us.  :D  You seem to know an awful lot, how come you don't believe? If I may ask.

oh, i see, i misread your sentence.
my parents converted after i was old enough to make up my own mind about such things, but not yet an adult, so forced to live with it.  luckily, they have cooled down in recent years, and are no longer fundamentalist.

i know a bit too much science to find almost any organized religion appealing.  i have no problem with anyone else believing what they wish.  if it brings someone comfort or helps someone to live "morally", great.  i just kind of wish it didnt take the threat of divine retribution for some people to "live right".
[Did Face say he was a fundamentalist Christian? No.
he was parroting the party line.  you'll forgive me for assuming something that quacked like a duck was indeed a duck, i hope?

not at all! that is missing the point. but of course there will always be the "some people" I suppose, who are part of something only for themself and their own agenda

Thought you should know Rhineland/Flynn is alive. Unless someone from Germany has hijacked Flynn's account on the X Forums and is claiming to be alive, OP was lying.

I found him yesterday at AA server.
I told him i read something bad about him.
He said he never died.
I asked him if he was sure that he was him.
He said yes i 'm sure.
I said i was happy he was there.
He said he was happy that i was happy.

So GEZ/Flynn/Constable is alive.
An admin close this thread?
