Title: How would I install on Linux Mint 12? - A Returning Veteran
Post by: Time2preY on January 13, 2013, 04:26:13 am
Returning to Tremulous after a year or so,
Have Linux Mint 12, downloaded "tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run" (Linux version)
Opening it only opens a blank gray box.

That's strange. Did you make it executable and try running it or is it opening in a text editor that can't do anything with it or something like that? If the former, try the zip instead (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tremulous/files/tremulous/1.1/tremulous-1.1.0.zip/download).

Thanks, the zip works. See you in combat.

As far as I've notice, he doesn't play. You'll probably see me more often in the mornings if you're european or around midnight if you're american...

Now that i think about it, i forgot to reference about who i was talking about. I was talking about Undeference. Either he uses another alias in-game, or I never see him online.

Also, get tremfusion [tremfusion.net] if you're playing 1.1. The normal 1.1 client from trem.net/files is outdated.

@RAKninja: Apparently I'm starting to see a lot of gpp players on 1.1. Any ideas?
So far one of them told me it's the fact R CZ is the "only active server left" (I don't think so, but it is sort of half true...)

I don't think I've ever played Tremulous with the name Undeference. I never mentioned this before but my name on the forum is different from my then-typical in game name because when I initially registered with that name way back when, I didn't get the confirmation email. When I play today, it's usually with a random alias so people don't recognize me.

sure, because you guys are all poopyheads and refuse to play the superior version, folks are getting desperate and downgrading to 1.1

fun fact,  most people tend to congregate on stupid servers that rotate shitty maps.

i'd rather not play at all than deal with badmins, shitmaps, and/or 1.1 unbalancedness.

edit, sorry for off-topicness, i thought this was a different thread.
