Title: Downloads..................
Post by: zcbaker on May 16, 2013, 02:40:26 am
Where are they? The only downloads I can find are the ones on the tremulous.net site. Google isn't helpful because Google and dial-up are not friendly with each other. *Smashing forehead on keyboard*
All my friends I play Trem with are bugging me to find new updates and all the mods I try to use crash for some reason (maybe I am not installing them correctly, please help with that to)

Use a download manager like Free Download Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org).  This will allow you to resume failed downloads (instead of having them "finish" when really they are only partially done).  I used to have lots of problems on dial-up due to this issue.  FDM fixed them (you could also try GetRight, but IIRC it's trialware).

i've never heard about any web search engine being unfriendly with dial-up connections.
links to the TJW client has been recently discussed (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=17229.msg236315#msg236315).
certain other downloadable client/server/module versions are (apparently):

additional information about the crash is required.1
some issues (related to incompatible server versions) are addressed on Risujin's web site (http://risujin.org/tremulous/).

I've been stacking up a list of sites for clients available.

The unfriendliness comes from having to search through pages of irrelevant information and skipping too many links can cause you to miss what you want.
FDM helps. I use Google Chrome which has its own half baked download manager that i used to use however FDM works almost perfectly.

Thanks for your help. See you in the arena (game name: My Spleen)
