Here's what happens. Sometimes when I play(it doesn't seem to matter which map) my character freezes up. Basically, I can move but I seem to stay in the same position and everyone else is running around frantically. So I end up getting killed many times and sometimes have to disconnect to play the game again. If I do come out of it it usuallly takes a few seconds and I find myself in a different place than where I first got a screen freeze, giving me the idea that I could move all along, but didn't see any of it.
I'm sure my comp and connection is fast enough for the game(smooth when I can play) so I must be something else. I remember reading about this once before, but the answer wasn't very satisfying(some stuff about a slow server) because this happens on every single server I've played on so far. Anyone got a better explanation?

Try to give trem some more memory and use the search button :) that was already covered here .)

I've found a one situation that was almost like mine

Sometimes it happens when there are a lot of things on the screen, but a lot of times it's not the determinant.
Oh, and to correct what I said earlier, there is no actual movement when my screen freezes. Funny, it instead makes you think you've moved a certain distance before it snaps back to reality.
Of course it might be memory, but how do you allot more the the game?

by killing other shit?
what speed connection are you on?
are you running bit torrent or anything?

It does sound like you are lagging out. When this happens and you hold down tab, does it show the other players? What does it show your ping is?
open command (~) and try:
/cg_lagometer 1
that will tell you when you are lagging out, among other things.
When you lose connection with the server, your game client keeps estimating where you would be on the map based on your continued movement, movement which the server never recieves. When the connection to the server restores, your game client puts you back to where the server says you are, hence the "snap".
I have this problem when my wireless connection goes to crap, that could be the problem too.
