Hi well i notest this is exately like gloom... , but it looks a lot nicer (and open source [take that q3gloom] 8) ).
well i have gmax and am learning how to use it . I can make meshes right now. so i know if i work with a l33t gmax mapper around here, ill be able to make some of this mod base stuctures and whatnots that arnt complex player models.
But i stull have talant! 8)
can i offer up some help with ya ppl?

No, not anymore, since they're done. The only thing left for the human side is the selection of sniper guns (we need at least four different kinds). If you are interested, you can also check out the alien concept art and model something from there.

p.s. i made some sort of mesh for a tele if your interrested, looks good and about 300-400 polys. 8)

You can start with the alien labeled as "Stobz" (the name might change if people really dislike it, so don't worry if it sounds funny) and after that, choose whatever you want :)
Post a screenshot of your mesh! Can't wait to see it!

I have two Q's
1: how do i make pic's in gmax and,
2: how can i upload the pic's on the fourms?

Press the "print screen" button on the keyboard and then paste it into your favorite image editing software (even ms paint works)
Then get one of the multiple free webspace hosts that allow remote linking, like www.tripod.lycos.com/ and upload the picture there, then link it here with an image tag! (Not going to explain it any further since you should be smart enough to figure it out!)

What do i do after i press the prnt screen button? Were is the pic saved?

when you press printscreen the image is copied over to the clipboard. So, as Who said, you can then paste it into your favortie image editing program. (you can usually go to "edit/paste" in the menu or use the shortcut "ctrl+v")

Anyway does Who have any authority to say anything, because I would find it pretty mean if Ac1 started working without anyone seriously wanting to use his stuff.

Ok i just made a sniper rifl. I think it can be usefull for a high-end energy rifle 8)

There's about 876 faces on the model. Is that too much?

The model is looking great, but it doesn't fit a sniper rifle, but rather some other, heavier, gun. Try to make a long barrel, and the rest easily holdable.
Almost 900 faces is too much for a gun! For example, on your sniper rifle, the handle does not need that much detail, you should reduce it. (Same with that tube on the top of it) Try to aim around 350 faces for a gun!

Ok i got the mesh at 607 sides, anymore and i start to lose detail :-?
Gave a longer barrel, moved the handle (like anyone will relly see it under the hand), remove some stuff, and redid the rest (if its not right tell me what it should look like).
go back to my site and look at sniper1.2 8)

hay overflow you can work on my sniper rifle when im done this bit,
i don't know how to add the tags, skin map it. Im am pritty much donating this to the mod. 8)

Well im working on the rifle some more now got it to 400 polys (whOt), but i got rid of some to on it. im now going to add other stuff and maybe make the barrel look sexyer. :o

see, the thing is that I've already finished all the weapons except the pain saw...so if you want to do that your welcome, but unless you want to skin or work on another set of modles. Although I don't know whats left besides the base player model.

It's pretty good, AC1. I'll see how we can best implement it, and of course you'll receive the credit you deserve for it. :) It's not like we're trying to rip you off.
If you want, you can also make a model of a double barreled shotgun with a laser sight on top. Nice job on the other weapon though!

I'm confused, is there going to be a Sniper rifle in Trem?
Cause that could change how I do some of my map.

There is a powerful, accurate, and slow firing weapon called the mass driver, that is very much like a sniper rifle, however, as of yet it does not have a zoom in capability.

Who, are you one of the programers for this mod? kind of weired because of how you act on the gloom fourms. :D
maybe ii may make the mesh of a db shotgun, is there anything i need to know about the mods shotgun, or is it just like q3's one?

Who is only here for emotional support. That is the reason that next to his name it doesn't say Tremulous Dev. I would also like to support M123's suggestion of never taking him seriously.
Thanks for contribution none-the-less. I'm sure that if we find a need for your work we will use it.

It can look somewhat similar to the DBShotgun of the base q3, but try to make it look more "spacey" since the technology of tremulous is far more advanced. Feel free to be creative with it!

That's pretty neat.. and maybe you can polish up the handle a bit more and it would be even better. Just a round handle looks sort of awkward and not at all high tech, but I trust you have some nice idea in your head already!

the model has 395 polys after i just redid the handle.
You do know that the player models hand will cover it right? :wink:

Yeah, but at least some part has to be sticking out at the bottom, otherwise a person couldn't get a good grip on it.

Who, i redid most of it and found out i had a few hidden poly lying around... gave it about 50 poly more.

The non-hollow barrels look sort of weird, and the barrels themselves are pretty short, but i guess short barrels would be okay for a space shotgun..
What were your thoughts behind the non-hollow barrel? It might work if you have a good idea..

I was thinking that the texture will draw a black hole for the barrel. :roll:
making a hole will probaly make the model over 400 polys, so i just wanted to save drawtime in the game.
the story of this shotgun:
Over the many years of the navy's battleship railguns. A cannon where the shot is moved by powerfule magnets.
A l33t inventer named Charles "Railer" (heh) made a 2x barrel using the save tech as the rail gun.
this weapon will fire two magnet pupeled "shadder bolts" that only requier a small barrel to fire strate. When the bolts hits a solid surface the bolts will blow apart and fire in every diretion for only a few feet, causing majer damage if your close to the
blasted (likely causing you to have your limbs removed).
How's that? 8)

I don't know what you can use it for, other than a 2 barrel shotgun.

The whole thing appears way too bulky to me.
I would like to see what it looks like if youd make it more slim.
