Hmm, I got "Taiyo.uk" already in use messages twice on tremulous.info Omega server today, at some time between 0700 and 0800 and again at 09:31 (GMT). I hadn't been recently disconnected and the server was not full. Is this a bug or is someone else using the name "Taiyo.uk"?
Edit: Oddness: 09:39, Taiyo.uk already in use on Omega and Derelict at the same time.

You made your own answer...not much chance someone would use your nick, and even less chances that two people does it at the same time.
You ve got a problem with your game...
-
Could you see yourself in the server before connecting?
after failing to connect?
-
its not you, im getting same problem with the Tremulous.info servers and DB@. Thing is , not everybody is getting this bug.
Once you do connect anyway , the lag spikes are unbearable.
Will show screenie of lag spikes in a mo
ok here it is , These lag spikes are constant on DB servers now. there are no breaks in the lag spikes just this constantly.

You sure you're not running bit torrent in the background?
I'm having no serious problems with lag spikes on DB/.info atm.
-
I have the same problem as you. Those aren't lag spikes but packetloss I think.
Using the Proxad network myself ( Free ), and you?
-
No heavy traffic, just a 128k music stream. I saw lots of red spikes on the lagometer when I could connect to a trem.info server, but I did not notice any actual lag, so as Stof wrote, they're probably packet loss rather than delay.
I'm on the EFH network (2M/256K DSL via a BT phone line). I got a 40 to 60 ping on the DB@ servers while the trem.info servers were having this problem.

packet loss shows as spikes in the top graph of the lagometer, the bottom graph shows latency.

I don't think so. I don't have time to dig the lagometer manual though.

Can't remember exactly but i think the red lines are rejected packets or packets not sent, so try modify your rate/snaps settings to a lower value.
Server-side lag is displayed as the yellow bars on the blue line at the top.

Ok, another proof that it is packet loss :
On the server browser, if I spam the refresh list button, quite often the information for those servers are missing, as if the request for info ( and ping ) didn't get through. If I get that problem before even joining the game, it's not a misconfiguraiton on my side.
Unfortunately, the most probable cause is a router problem between our networks and the network hosting the server so there isn't much we can do.
