YO! Hallo to every one, I can see there are quite a few Gloom fans here, nice.
But to every one else, I offer my work to the world of Tremulous, My skills aren’t super, but I can do like... art, and design.
Well I joined here because Tremulous seems like a really cool mod, and q3a need some more good mods.
And I'm using a 56k modem, and I hate it.

Hey, if you're any good at skinning and/or modeling that would be a lot of help. Maybe even concept sketches...

Ok, I have been away for a while whith my friends, but now I'm back.
I din'd really know what to sketch so I just made some random things.

hey thats really good :D We're (at least I'm) mainly looking for ideas for aliens. I think I'm going to start with that cool lookin one at the lower right. Also maybe for later on a human and "battlesuit"
Here's a nice list of all the classes so far:
Builder/Granger: Builds stuff- model already done
Soldier: basic attack unit. Can wallwalk- model kinda done, but I'll probably redo it, esspecially if you can think of something better than what I did :)

there it is!
Hydra: walks on walls, can grab people (keeps them kinda frozen)
upgrade: also sprays poison gas cloud
Dragoon: can charge up a "pounce" attack.
upgrade: can also fire poison barbs
Chimera: lightning attack
upgrade: directional, longer range lightning attack
Big Mofo(needs a name me thinks): really really big
, has a healing aura, and can stomp the ground to make the little humans fall over
Most aspects of these aliens can be changed based on the model and any better ideas. :) The big mofo is still being debated as to a few of its traits...Timbo doesnt like the stomping thing :)
umm I think thats it... If we end up using any of your concepts your name will end up in the credits :) I'm not sure how much more we could offer besides the alpha and beta releases, but I'd have to talk to the others about that. whee! Im glad you came around here. I can never come up with original stuff :)

Wohaa! thats so nice to hear. I don't really need any credit I'm just glad I can help out, and that some one likes my art :D
But I'll try to keep the sketches updated.

anyway, yeah the problem with doing the bottom right alien is that when I see it I'm reminded of the queen alien.. and we dont want to be Foxed on this one.

Well, the first update is done, tho one with out legs and just have arms and a tail is supposed to be a Hydra and can grab people with the tail.
and then there is alot of other weird stuff.

Well, I'm not really diggin the body... I didnt have a sketch to work off of :( Anyways, comments and critisizm plz!
And Crylar, good stuff. But, most of your ideas look very... human. Maybe try basing on other creatures as well? And grabbing people with the tail would be cool, but almost impossible to make look good in-game. I was thinking of doing a more simple "hug" or stab to get sticking onto the humans :)

WoW :o Sweet. I really like the body, except for the end/tail but many big legs are cool :D.
but isn't there alot polys on the head that could go on the body?
I know, most of my thing look very human like and I'm not really happy about that either, but I'll try to think of other things.
Oh, and about the grabing thing, when the hydra has grabd a human, will he be abel to run away with hem or not?? :-?

And Gawd Over... I LOVE that bigmofo... every part of it is perfect as far as my opinion goes.. well I'm not sure about the spikes on the front arms.. but apart from that .... totally scary looking!

yeah, I still need to finish the end of the body (not quite sure what to do with it) and the arms will either get another joint or use clawed hands like in the sketch
[edit] Also jex was supposed to draw a sketch of what I should do to fix the body, but hasnt been able to produce it yet :P

I'm offering my abilities to the collective :x
I can map, though I never really have for Quake3, the only real differences i've noticed between either is that Quake3 has support for neater brushes. I can code a bit, been at C and OpenGL for about 10 months now, and have a good grasp of how an FPS works (especially the Quake series, started out coding on Quake2 :P ).

so much stuff :D I cant model that fast... and Im kind alazy, but I just got a job, so Im trying to relax after serving food to so many people :P
also, you know the things hanging from big mofo's head? What are they? I think they look cool, but Im not sure if they fit... any explanation so that I can put them in? :)

Echon: We don't need any programmers as all the code is essentially done, but another mapper couldn't hurt :)

When I started I basically went for a gloom feel, but instead redesigned to account for wall... walking.....

:D yes, I think I will have to use cool legs :) I also like quite a few of the heads I saw in your last post. Sorry I haven't worked on big mfo yet, but I've been playing around with the jet pack :) I'll fix him up and work on cool legs soon hopefully....
