Title: Two weapon slot and a new weapon

I really think we should have two weapon slot. For example, you buy a chaingun, you kill all the maruaders and stuff. Then the dretches come. You can kill dretches with chainguns, but most people can't, and you die. So I think it'd be good if you can have another weapon in slot. But because it'd be cheap to have Chaingun and Flamethrower, it should be one heavy weapon and one small weapon. Like chaingun and rifle. Or flamethorwer and shotgun. Or maybe two small guns too.

As for a new weapon, it should be something that almost acts like a pulse rifle, but the bullet is like a chaingun. Because I really don't like pulse rifle, even though it looks like it moves fast, you can see the "lasers" moving. It seems slow. And chainguns are too hard to aim. So then when you are fighting Tyrants, Dretches, Dragoons, and other aliens, which weapon do you use? It should be the weapon I'm talking about. It could be called AK47 :D or something...

You can already carry one heavy weapon and one small weapon.

Of course, there's only one small weapon, and it's called the blaster.

The weapon you are proposing is the lasgun, or at least that's as close as you're going to get to it.

Tremulous isn't exactly your highly realistic tactical FPS. If it were, I'd be packing a HK .40cal and a Dragunov SR (for dragoon hunting ;).

sure its would be cool for the humans. then you would have to do somthing for the aliens and that would be more for nothing and it would creat more balance issues that we are slowly getting rid off.

BTW how our map going i have some more stuff for you to do with GTKr if your in the mood

I want to be able to carry around a loaded Lucy and a loaded Pulse, in addition to the Blaster. That would rock. Give the Aliens a 2000hp/200dmg class while you are it, please.

Give the aliens a burrowing class that can grab like a basailsk, and pull humans underground, so it is safe, and give it a 200 slash.

tremulous is a game supported by area 51
so it should be a realistic simulation

well, i thought about a new weapon. How about a weapon where you can zoom in so you can shoot better? Like a sniper rifle (but  not really the sniper rifle, it doesn't fit in the game, right?) So maybe a "rifle" that can make you look closer. Like an upgrade to the weapon you have.

you CANT look closer with Mass Driver.
And Mass Driver isn't even a kind of the rifle weapon. It's like a shotgun...

Wrong , a mass driver is nothing like a shotgun and is closer to a rifle than a shotgun.

A rifle fires a bullet where your crosshair as pointing as far as i know.
A shotgun fires a shell of bullets in the area of ur crosshair.
A Mass driver fires a depleted uranium cell at your crosshair.

So , an md is closer to a rifle.

try the zoom key, and it's more like a sniper 'rifle' than any other weapon in the game.

But you only can shoot once in a while, not like repeatly, like a rifle

Lasgun not useful in s3? You really need to play the game more. It's an excellent weapon for pursuing and weakening aliens. Just remember that humans aren't supposed to take big aliens on 1vs 1. And the rifle is a single shot reload weapon. You're thinking of automatic rifles.

But Kevlarman, your idea won't work, because evoloving only works when faraway from enemies :)

since humans get to switch weapons at any time, i assumed that the backup class that aliens get would be exactly the same

lmfao... So, you're saying that the entire human team is extremely underpowered. Has it ever occured to you that maybe you're just bad at Tremulous? Because that would explain why you're the only one who can only beat an alien with 2 weapons, and full ammo for each weapon.

Not to mention you aren't aware of what a rifle is. It's a gun whose barrel has spiral curves in it to improve accuracy. Basically, if it's not a shotgun and it's not at handgun, it's a rifle. Now, I'm not going delve into gun terms and definitions, but I will say this:

...What the hell do you think a sniper rifle is? By your definition, a rifle is an automatic weapon (a gun where you can hold the trigger down and it'll fire continuously). Now, sniper rifles are most always bolt-action, meaning you have to manually chamber each bullet by pulling the bolt open and closed. Think for a second: If a sniper rifle doesn't match your definition of the word "rifle", then something's up.

Nah, sod that, I want to have 2 lucys that fire at the same time along the same path and an advanced dretch that has noclip on as default.
(Noclip dretches kill humans and turrets instantly)

If we are at that, I would take the Quake 3 rocket launcher, or even better, the UT 99 rocket launcher ( the one where you can load 6 rockets at the same time :) )

Two is a preposterous number. Why stop at two? I want a rocket launcher and a BFG 9000 (and a pistol, a shotgun, a chaingun, etc.). And the highest class alien should be a missile launching skyscraper with goat legs. 'Nuf said.

Come to think of it, a cyberdemon would destroy any chances the humans ever thought they had, regardless of whether all humans could carry TWO BFG 9000s.
1. The humans would all be killing each other.
2. A cyberdemon has 2000 hit points and takes NO SPLASH DAMAGE.
3. No human can score a direct hit every time, while dodging huge blast areas (and friendly fire).
4. Cyberdemons would own any and every human base within minutes (and if there are a bunch of humans with BFG 9000s, they only accelerate the process).
5. If we assume a cyberdemon is like the aliens, its healing rate would be high enough to negate any effect a rifle (or a teammate's poison) would do.

I think this could fix up sudden death pretty well too. When sudden death comes around, just make everyone either a bsuit with a BFG 9000 or a cyberdemon. The game will end in under 5 minutes.
