This is getting very tiresome.
First like Caveman hint it, this is not the first thread about Clanbase.
Second, the idea of getting a ladder on clanbase for Trem is really stupid for now. First we have really few real clans and second people have yet to come with good rules for clan matches.
Third a first post for that... -_-

You know you could actually read what people write before asking a question..Some say it helps a lot to understand...

so make a CB ladder, establish some rules and start gathering more clans. Simple, eh?

The correct order would be clans, rules, ladders.

I definitly agree with Survivor.
When they were will be more clans, we will be able to see what are they can really do in a game (for now, most of the games are full of noobs).
Based on that, we will be able to fix some rules (Number of players, length of the match, time of SD, etc...) that will allow clans to have a fair and interesting game without taking too much time.
Then we will be able to make ladders for Trem and to say to Clanbase admins "ok this is how our matches work, pls make a ladder for that"
If you make the Clanbase ladder first here is what is gonna happen :
- Admin of Clanbase will play the game for 1 week, and then decide the rules of the matches (and dont expect them to get good rules, when even the oldest players on Trem haven t manage to find rules before)
- Clans will be made to fit Clanbase requirements.
So basically if you do a ladder now, the game will be fitted to adapt the Clanbase system, and not the other way around.

erm WHAT? CB admins? What are you talking about? Last time i was in CB (tacops league) Clan leaders made rules of the match and filled results. CB ppl were involved only in case of a conflict. Did something changed ?
and BTW, how many of you nosayers have a clan? yep, though so

Well, here we go. I say no to the method. What does being in a clan have to do with it? Most clans are badly organized and those that are well organized have gone beyond clans and become communities. I can live with communities, not with some bitching clan people seem to take up and throw down every other day.
The fact is until you have a lot of people who actually understand the game you can't put up rules. As long as you don't have a standard set of rules you will have floating rules which can be made to benefit the situation you're playing. And if you can adjust situations to give the advantage to certain teams you don't have a real ladder.
And don't come and say 'I know more of the game then you do' because this isn't about the person but about a method of organization.

in other words you are a TROLL, right?

Do I have to respond to you when you did exactly what i told you not to do in the last sentence of my post? Respond to the issue and show me my analysis is wrong.

I think in this case it is you that is the troll.

As I said earlier I allready had a clan in CB (I was a clan leader). We made Polish CB tacops ladder without all that "analysing" (trolling), and it just worked.
You see, you are the one who wants to 'talk' and 'analyse'. But ppl in this thread want a CB ladder. So please go and talk and analyse elsewhere.
BTW: I just tried to make a new pool for trem as a Q3-mod, but the damn form keeps saying "Please enter all fields!" under Opera and Dillo, WTF? Is it IE only or am I missing something?.

Clanbase's voting for tremulous has been closed (http://www.clanbase.com/ladderpetition_vote.php?qid=57f5d5529217&lpid=6724)
While I can understand the disagreement that tremulous is still too disorganized/in early stages of clan forming/general lack of consensus about rules, I personally feel that these reasons should not (have) prevent(ed) anyone from voting. Why?
1) Rules will eventually be hammered out, and it makes sense that clanbase would expedite that process.
2) Better now than later. Tremulous got only 26 measly votes. There are 1975 members on the forum (granted, a good amount dont post/dont play/ have made more than one name. But that still leaves hundreds of players actively playing) I know for a fact that many people are addicted to trem, though i cant prove it, except for my case :P
3) Despite that yes, there are many newbies (it is a new game), there are clans out there getting their act together, trying to scrimm one another. Not to mention experienced players in clans are dying for this to happen, generally, and to put it off longer risks possible decay in existing clans.
4) The idea is straight. The argument is that clanbase will mess up whatever rules their are for matches, which may be true; I don't know. but so far the clan section of the forums isn't really the model for structure though.
So overall, I think a ladder is a good idea. Shouldn't be too serious, as people have pointed out that tremulous is still very much formulating clans and getting new players. But it would definately be a plus for the game, and probably attact new players as well.
wow, I did not mean for this to be that long. Btw, I don't mind a little argument over the issue, after all, we all do have different views that we can validate. Just keep it nice please. My feelings are easily hurt :) Actually, I just don't like getting in pointless fights with people.
Edit: Ok, so at least for now clanbase aint gunna happen. But can we get a forum going in this thread of ideas about ladders, scrimms, and matches? Or better yet, an actual thread in the clans section stricly devoted to the topic, which might mean some of us got our act together and staart forming stuff between clans?
