I think the title saya it all. It doesn't have to be noobie just something that urks you.
Mine:Tyrants who take one shot and run away. Another: Marsbase map I don't know why it makes me mad....

I hate feeders. Specifically, feeders who catapult humans to S3 while the poor bugs are stage 1.
Furthermore, I hate stupid camping humans who continue to camp even though they are S3 and we are S1. Just finish it, goddamnit!
I also hate base ruining n00bs.
Deconstructing all of my defenses to build at least a dozen eggs is not the way to build a base.

My hates would be people who use bugs (building in the floor or BS as an alien) and then you all get into an arguement about how "Using bugs is/isn't cheating" >_<'

People that refuse to build and blame the whole team for not being a builder.
People that don't know that they don't know. I.E. 'temple deconstructs a machine gun Turret'....'OMG WAT R U DOING BAN HIM'
People that chaingun/battle suit the whole time.
Humans that sit in the base, on a Turret, with a battlesuit and any high cost weapon, the whole time.
Being the only alien with the evo points to use advanced goon or tyrant, being blocked by the rest of the team because they are tagging along behind you, over and over, until you are a dretch again, and people saying 'Kill count are for show offs'.

Agreed. Also, people who complaints of bases if they are different from the one which is always 'used in the server'.
I didn't get the bs+chaingun complaint, tho. It would be the same as complaining of tyrants cause they exist?
NOTE: I don't usually play bs (unless defending against tyrants) nor chaingun. I don't use to build either.

Hmmm :eek:, being open minded about base design is a good thing, but I can't think a single place, where base that has been spread all over the place is better than a compact one.

The only place where I would put some turrets "away" from the main base is the original human base on Karith station : it is just too useful to have a few turrets upstairs just before the door.

Indeed - tightly packed is far more effective than spread out, at least against players who know what they are doing. Its a good sign of whether an alien player has a clue in how he deals with outer turrets. If he stops to engage them when the base is lightly defended, or even worse jumps at the unarmoured humans running around next to them you know you have a poor player. If he leaps past them and takes out the more important and undefended critical structures (def comp, armoury, nodes or even reactor) you know you have a good player. Its all about the age old problem that most people still dont understand how to actually attack a base.
The karith example is true about upper turrets being useful, but only if you are still in the starting base position, which makes a close packed base difficult as the area is so big and open. Better off moving somewhere else and having a tightly packed base there.

People who complain about blocking all the time and blame dretches whenever they get killed
People who scream "DRETCHES OFF THE FLOOR!!!!", when a) you are playing a level where the walls are full of fiddly detail that make wall-walking virtually impossible b) the shouter has forgetten that dretches have to come down off the walls to kill c) lots of newbies are playing, for whom "DRETCHES OFF THE FLOOR" means nothing. Explain to them politely that they can wall-crawl otherwise they block bigger aliens and get them killed (this works wonders for me) d) Treat dretches with some respect, they are just bigger aliens that haven't fed up yet... which brings me onto:
People counting kills over the win (side issue: Tremulous really should report the kills/deaths ratio rather than straight kills) -- so you get experienced tyrants chasing after unarmoured humans instead of leaving them for dretches to feed and becoming bigger aliens which can help them win, or Battlesuited humans with Lucis and flamers going after dretches just so they can brag at the end about their l33t kill number (perhaps kills should be weighted by how powerful the killed opponent is)... and in both case completely ignoring structures. Incidentally... you don't get much reward/respect (messages or points) for destroying structures, even though it is ABSOLUTELY vital to winning. Using up your credits to grenade all the alien tubes and eggs (which no-one else seems to bother with), gets you a big fat ZERO in respect compared to the battlesuited super-dude who slaughtered 100 dretches with his Luci.
People who complain about teamkills all the time when there is a narrow corridor full of slashing aliens and firing humans.
People who think Tyrants are, like, IT. Tyrants are a bulldozer... useful, but all the other aliens have their uses, and Tyrants are pretty weak in many ways. Don't TK other aliens assuming that the player isn't good enough to get the points to be a Tyrant.
People who refer to their teammates as retards, morons or idiots. It's a game. Show a little common decency. So what if you lose because your teams is a bit new. So what if your builder made a horrible mistake. Get over it. You lost a game, that's all. This is actually part of a bigger problem in which you get a poisonous atmosphere in public games and it encourages griefing and still more unpleasantness. This is a big problem on SST, where the admins don't stamp down on rudeness, and worse, actually behave like this themselves.
People who don't apologise when they accidently TK... doubly so if you happen to be a tyrant or goon.
Oh and finally... and experienced players who stand in doorways like dopes.

After joining a game where the team with fewer players is winning, you get vote kicked because there are more players on the losing team than the other. This just happened on tjw (of course after the restart vote failed). LMAO.

I hate ppl on SST who yell at you for tkig when there are over 30 ppl in the game. Its impossible not to get a tk due to lag and the number of players.

as for tking other non tyrants: you have basilisk going against a tesla fortified base. You cannot slip in, you cannot grab and kill battlesuits (unles syou're bloody or stasis), you cannot poison anyone. So what is the point of you blocking a tyrant?
Yer ass is TKed not because you don't have enough evos to go tyrant yourself but because you lack the brain power to stay out of the way of those that do.

Criticizing the builder for a terrible base (absolutely nothing covering reactor or armory) and him getting me vote kicked. (I have terrible luck on Beer Garden. Only place I have ever been kicked.)
And I agree, I have never seen a spread out base do as well as a compact one with good egress/regress.

I see these mistakes over and over again. It makes me feel ashamed for enjoying a game that semi-literate people also enjoy.
If English is obviously not the person's first language, then I don't mind; it's the people who are fluent in less than one language that get me.
On the other hand, I have nothing against abbreviations or leetspeak, and I can appreciate these kinds of utterances: "ima goon that jettard".
Oh yeah, and the sounds of the advanced marauder zap and the pulse rifle impact shouldn't be the same.

One more thing that pisses me off:
Turrets that block the way into the base - imagine a tired human (can't jump), poisoned by an alien, with no medikit, trying to get to the medistation but Turrets in front of the base block his way... How do you think - what's the result? :x

Screw that! Make it just votes with invalid reasons. Basically, whenever there is a restart vote that passes, I'm going to a different server. Also, I've been seeing a lot of these bad kick votes. The really sad thing about them is that when the person who got kicked comes back and calls a kick vote on the person who kicked them, that vote never passes.
Makes me want to beat people's brains (you know, where their brains would be if they had any) out with :barricade::barricade::barricade:

Tyrants who slash all the time as they run. I had just evoed goon and went around a corner there was a tyrant no one chaseing him slash slash I'm dead and lost all my evo's. He does it a couple of other times to other ppl. I call a kick vote 10 yes 1 no. He gets kicked signs back on says he is gonna report me to the server admin O_O.

ah, the last post reminded me, people who teamkill you as a alien. I know it's sometimes an accident but it gets annoying. I lost a lot of my evolve points with that.
I guess its pretty same as above, but its littlebit differnt because I've been killed by a good too.

If its an egg hunt, don't move the reactor, and don't just stand there with a ckit.
Worse, when they have no spawns, and people still camp.

*Feeders, even though it is in opponent team
*Builders who don't inform their moving plans and especially if he/she accuses naab team for losing
*Builders who just stop building when base is incomplete/base is under attack and don't inform that he/she stops building
*Players without attacking sense; blocking when it could have been avoided, not attacking when OM(ckit may stay imho/reactor down(granger EVO), egghunt with battlesuit(?!), "lets attack booster" when egg is in sight
Aliens
*Granger moving with OM removal especially when map starts -> No 3 min wins
*Egg spam if not running
*Pointless slashing/charging
*Mara-army attacking 1st line of defence rather than jump to defenceless base
*NON-attacking dretches @ ATCS corridor floor -> drethes and grangers whine when TKd
*Tyrants who don't let drethces kill unarmoured humans unless tyrants are @ low HP
Humans
*Builders who do "good" 1st line of defence and leaves THE base unprotected
*Turre(N)ts are built just for metal-eating dretches :roll:
*Blocking turrets -> humans running -> block and block -> humans get killed and as2/3 faster
*Players who just bursts even others are front of him/her

How about humans camping at all? Go ahead and camp at stage 1 and hope you get s2, if you can't aim. But when you get stage 2 or stage 3, camping is equivalent to conceding.
I almost can't play against an actual human team because I play against (and with, when I'm on humans) campers too much.

When we are being hammered and I have 1000 creds I want to go attack, but noobs with 0 creds just want to feed and wont repair turrets to let me take a bsuit and chaingun to the aliens eating the base.

He decons the whole damn base and starts to rebuild it in a terrible place.

The biggest thing that bothers me is HORRIBLE / NEW BUILDERS THAT HAVE NO CLUE!!!
Some nights i play on servers where all the builders know what they are doing. It's awesome.
Then there are some nights where the noobs and sst people roll in.
Example:
Builders on my fav servers I have never seen bfore com in and build ALL the turrets away from the reactor. They put them in the doors only. I say "Hey guys the turrets have to be pulled back to protect the reactor. The reactor is totally unprotected". They respond : "Nobody will be able to get in so that does not matter". Yopu know what htis tells me? Either they play on a SST like server or they are new cause they dont understand a goon can jump over in 2 seconds and destroy our base. SO F-ING FRUSTRATING. So I keep telling them "Pull the turrets back" and stop when the guy calls me a prick. So I said "OK, jet remember I TOLD YOU SO". So what happens in the next 5 minuts? 2 goons and a tyrant bust in and destroy our completely defenseless base. Then the ass diconnects before I can say "I TOLD YOU SO".

That happens quite often. Once I was more annoyed than usual and I simply joined the aliens to show him how much unprotected the reactor was. The time to get enouth points for a few adv mara runs and the game was over :wink:

Hehe, I tend to play aliens more often than humans now simply because of the crappy building (it's not just on SST) and people shooting me in the back before I even leave the base. I've switched teams a lot for those reasons.

I'm a mainly fighter but I will build ina pinch. If I join humans at s3 rather then feed tyrants I stay in the base and snipe of feeder drecths. I also watch builders who I know are good. Like USA Proximus. So if i have to I take over building. One gane on karith I join humans. They moved the base to the cornor of the warehouse. Not the cornor under the balcoy the cornor near the reactor. I decide to stay and see what it would take to win. There were sevral bad things going on. Noob builders, feeders, bad base etc... Well a mara jumps down into our spawns and kills our spawners. I spot him and take him out with the lad gun. I tell the builder to get a turret or two to cover them. He didn't answer. I buy a ckit and begin to build them there. But he takes up my bps when he builds a secound armory. I tell him we need turrets near reactor and to deconnsrtuct that. He still won't listen. After another mara and a dragoon tried the same thing. I decon his armory and build turrets. By this time were s1 still and I hear the roar of tyrants. I grab my lgun after the turrets are built. After a few minutes he decons my turrets!!! I yell at him to put them back but no he goes and starts the armory again. Then when I buy a ckit to decon it again he shoots me with rifle buys ckit decons reactor and leaves....
Now that is a griefer/noob builder....

I have an effective method of dealing with them. Decon the reactor on humans and leave the game; on aliens, I decon all eggs and om, then leave. If they're so good, they can figure it out for the team.
Lame, I know, but It causes the team with no teamwork to instantly fail, and pisses the noobs off enough they leave. In other words, it causes one team to disperse so that the teams equalize in skill when it forces a new map. I usually try kickvoting first, and if the team doesn't care, then I'll do it and leave.
The same goes with players who are too good. If I'm on a server there are invincible players there I'll leave. If I see 1 goon singlehandedly taking down a human base on a 6v6 game with average players, there's no point to playing you, and after the second game, most people get the point and leave. I'v been unbelievably good at other games, and I know from experience, if you're that good you are going to ruin the fun for everyone else and by joining such a server warrants a banning.
Most of the time I straightout leave and go somewhere else or hit spectate and let the noobie team fail because I'm not there, then when the next game comes around, the teams will equalize, or close the game and do something else; that's how I find myself playing different games. There is no point in playing a game where there's no chance of victory because your team has the cumulative intelligence of a peanut.

I've seen failing miserably teams pull it together and nail a dominating opponent. You haven't though. That's because you are a griefer who plays to win, not to figure out how to win. Good games are the impossibly hard ones. You know, the ones you grief or just quit on.

I normally don't get mad at newbies, in fact i pretty much laugh at their noobness most of the time, but man.. oh man, what happened today was unreal.
I get in a game (Uncreation), 1 v 2 and join the human team to make things fair. I start building a nice base with defenses tighly organized around the reactor for better protection. Then this guy just start moving the stuff around in some random places, but it's ok.. i can live with that; aliens were only stage 2 at the time anyway.
I kept playing, killed some dretches, a basilisk, got stage 2 and bought a jetpack, armor, lasgun, and ran off to the alien base to kill the Overmind (by flying over the alien base, they didn't have defenses anywhere near the door but near the om :|). And what happens when I'm running away from the marauder and jump to off the cliff to take him off me and fly? I FALL, and die! because by some weird reason the jetpack didn't work! hhhm, what happened i asked to myself? the dude decided to move the reactor 5 yards away from where it was! gah!
After the incident, i told him what had happened, and that he made me lose precious credits + a chance for us to win the game. I was tempted to leave the game, but i knew that they (an unnamedplayer had joined already) couldn't win the game by themselves.
So i started racking up some credits and bought the same stuff than before (priffle this time), because the alien base was STILL default. I took off, ready to kill them with the same ol' strategy, i managed to get to their base alive, turned on the jetpack, i was free! we had that game in our (my..) hands! ooh, i could already taste the victory [Insert Evil Laugh Here]. THEN GUESS WHAT!? he decons the f*****g reactor again!! GAH! and of course, you wouldn't expect me to live after that fall *cries*.
The whole thing was so frustrating and bizarre that i'm trying to forget it :|
At least i have the hope he understood what he did wrong at the end.. i mean, i did hear "sorry" but he didn't leave the base the whole game so who knows if he knew jetpacks don't work without a reactor :(

At first glance its atcs redone by some AMERICAN, FAT SUV driving PIG with small penis.
its as huge and uselessly ENORMOUSLY BIG as the map called DARK (or dark_someshit, dont remember).
Everything got ridiculously bigger, corridors that were able to pack 2 tyrrs side by side now can pack 16 tyrrs ... or 38 SUVs, 2 yachts, 6 plasma TVs and years worth of my cat shit. It can fit whole 2nd Tank Battalion. One has to wonder what exactly author was trying to compensate for?
And now the weird part, Meta-Lion is French !?!??!?! But HOW/WHY?? We all know that :

Never is such a strong word. I've had games were if the builders hadn't been builders and attacked as I asked them to do, humans would have won BEFORE stage 2. And more often, stage 2 is all that is needed to win, even with a crappy human base ( crappy it may be but when the whole alien team is still strugling to evolve past dretch it is better to attack )

I like to think that the Adv Mara isn't that much stronger at killing a crappy human base than a Mara or a Goon. And if the alien player has plenty of points, Mara is probably a better choice since you can make more suicide runs for the same number of evo points :)
So, my word on that point : alien stage 2 is in no way some magic change which will sudenly allow the aliens to wipeout the human base as if they weren't here. As it is now, alien stage 2 is much more of a defensive evolution than offensive. If the base would have fallen shortly after aliens reach stage 2, it could have fallen much ealier all the same.

Don't forget that when the mara zap chains, the damage is divided between the targets. In the end, you don't do more damage than against a single target, and you take longer to reduce the humans attack power ( a human with 1 hp does as much damage as a human with 100 hp ) ;)
Of course, if I'm wrong and the damage isn't divided, then I admit the zap is indeed a very fine weapon against groups of humans or of buildings.

mara 80hp/sec , 150hp
adv mara 97hp/sec , 175hp
lets say the human is good, you get shot by him half the time. You are pro h4xor so you always stay between farthest turret and stupid ckit/armory/rifle/other turret + you avoid second turret fire (half of it). So its ~50hp/sec damage to you while you zap one turret, after 2 sec dies naked rifle, after 3 seconds second hummie and the turret is gone, you retreat to heal. Now with clawing you will die before you kill the first turret.
Make that 2 adv maras and even additional rifle is toasted, or should I say zapped ? :P

I find your results confusing. First because the zap damage is supposed to be split evenly between the targets. Second because even with a single target, I can barely reach the killing efficiency you get against a single turret :)
So, here are the expected damages per full zap against 1, 2 and 3 targets :
- 80.0
- 60.0, 20.0
- 44.44, 26.66, 8.88
It should takes 1.75 seconds to kill a naked human with the adv mara zap. 1.75 seconds counted from the start of the first zap up to when the human dies. And 3.375 seconds to kill a single turret.
All this is was done without taking into account the zap damage bug of course.
What I find interesting though, is that the zap attack does more damage to the secondary target when there are three targets than when there are only two :)
So, in your situation, we have 1 adv mara attacking 1 turret and 2 humans.
Damage done after each zap :
- 44, 27, 9
- 88, 54, 18
- 132, 81, 27
- 176, 108, 36 ( here, damage commputed is slightly off because of the early human death, but not by much )
So, it takes us nearly 4 full zaps to kill 1 human in a three way chain zap :) 4 full zaps at 1.5 seconds between zaps does sum up to 5.5 seconds. Granted at that point, you nearly killed the turret too.
Compare that to the 2 seconds it takes for an Adv Marauder to kill a single turret with the normal attack, followed by 1.5 more seconds of torso hits against an unprotected human. Total needed to kill all humans : 2+1.5+1.5 = 5 seconds :)
( Edit : my bad, I used the Mara stats and not the Adv Mara stats :). The times for Adv Mara are 1.6s for a turret and 1.2 seconds then for each human )
And did I mention that your computed dps you take during the operation doesn't even come close to the 50 hp/s you talk about ? :D

sure you do, because it doesnt :) When you are struck by lightning holding to something WONT make the charge smaller, you will only pass less of it to that object = zap chain with decreasing damage over distance.

turret 190hp, adv mara claw dps 100, where is that 1.6sec?
Well, there is some magic in there I admit. But talking in DPS to decide the time it takes to kill a turret doesn't work too well because damage is done by pulses at discreet time. You cannot do a half swipe at a turret do you?
So, the Adv Mara does 40 damage pe swipe, and a turret has 190 health. So it takes 5 swipes for a total of 200 damage to kill a turret. Adv Mara attack delay is of 0.4 seconds between swipes. Let's consider an Adv Mara that is already in attack range of a turret :
- attack 1
- 0.4 s pause
- attack 2
- 0.4 s pause
- attack 3
- 0.4 s pause
- attack 4
- 0.4 s pause
- attack 5
=> total time until turret dies and stops damaging the player : 1.6 second.

Yeah, I didn't check any kind of rounding issues that could happen. Rounding issues were what caused a 80 damage attack to deal 100 damage to an unarmored human :)
If that function is to be fixed and deal damage as the original writer intended it, the mara zap will be even weaker against multiple targets.

I play for a good time; to me, a good time means it has give and take and the teams are relitivally equal. It means you duel a goon for 3 minutes until you're out of ammo and he's running from your blaster due to low health or you fight until the tyrant is dead and you've got 1HP. It means being creative in how you move, think, and build.
Overall, it means you aren't playing with a bunch of team-stacking, game breaking skillfull assholes who would rather spend the entire time inflating their ego's by racking up killcounts than playing for fun.

Take this scenario; it's a 10v10 game, everyone in that game is having a good time. 1 fantastically good guy joins and begins killing everyone on the other team and ends the game within 5 minutes singlehandedly. The entirety of the other team leaves because they don't want to play there and due to the boardom of the previous game, half of the winning side leaves, and he leaves. The server is now 3v3 10 minutes later, and a new games starts. Ask yourself what has just happened.
I'v done it before as a server admin in other games and people were happy for it; it's one thing if you do it now and again, another if you do it all the time. I really don't care if you're cheating or not so long as the degree of cheating isn't to the point of gamebreaking. If it weren't for bugs, some games wouldn't even be how they are today. If you are ruining the fun for the other players in the game, kiss your ass goodbye.

In the end, it all comes down to a fine balance. Its fine if you are a good player, but when you keep on going "pwnt" etc after every kill, and your the leader of the entire map by 50 kills, of course you're going to get kicked/banned. But if you do it modestly, and don't kill them too much, you shouldn't have to worry. In the end, its just a game,so there's no need to take it seriously and focus solely on killing every single person on the map 15 times. Just play for the fun and social interaction.

You're playing a game that's about killing, where the goal is killing, and you're saying killing isn't supposed to be fun. You're saying the challenge of getting a kill is fun, but the doing of the killing itself isn't fun. Playing on a 50 person server (SST with 40-50 players), Friendly Fire is on, small map (ATCS), S3 both sides and the admin tells me he is going to kick me because I accidently TK'd(?) a couple of times in a firefight in the other team's base. What a brainiac. Must have been all of 10 years old. What did he expect with that kind of game/mess? All I could do was laugh at the stupidity of it all and save him the trouble by leaving to find a decent server.
BTW- Since the majority of the Trem players seem to be little more than kids, is there a server that features mature players with good chat? I enjoy good chat in a game and the nastiness that comes out of many of the mouths of players continues to show how young and dumb they are. I run a server now and then to play with old friends from clans of other games and am always disappointed when I get back in to general play servers.

My pet peeve is humans who camp small spaces like vents, as its annoying to get around as aliens and as a human they aren't helping when your team is getting mauled and an extra gun would really help.

If its not abused, then flame wars won't happen. This is a topic for people to say what annoys them, not abuse each other. Its like a way to let off steam. It isn't meant to be a place to abuse each other, and so far, nobody has (as far as I know). Its up to its sixth page, so its going pretty good for no flame wars. So don't close this one down.

You tell your team your gonna move. Guy come to help you by defending you. You tell some one to be granger/ckit to decon. Get to your spot tell they guy to decon stuff so you can build. Problem? No one listened

ah ha, saw that happening once (don't know if it was you, I don't think so...) the first time the person tried to do that, I just joined the server, so I couldn't do anything. The second time a person tried that, I was bodyguarding the person, but he died, so it's not my fault :( the third time worked and I helped :D

- repetative feeding
- prifle / luci spam
- egghunting bsuits
lame server category:
- cocky asshole admins who abuse their power
- waaay too many build points
- ff kills dretches / no dretch punt
- getting votekicked for pwning too many noobs
- energy weapons not refillable at armory
lame building category:
- building spawns off-map
- egg spam (esp on transit)
- floor trappers
- useless barricades
- turret blocking
- continuing turret blocking after being told to stop

-Getting kicked for bs reasons or false accusations(I've been votekicked for aimbotting, the only reason the vote passed was because the aliens wanted me gone)
-When playing a really fun game against players of the same skill level and a pro comes on and decimates the other team

-Basecamping aliens that complain about humans camping
Actually, the only one that actually makes me mad, not just annoyed, is the first one.

Aliens that bitch about blocking even when no humans are around
Alien that tk and damage teammates when nothing is around

Aliens 'pros' that blame everything on blocking

This isn't really on topic, but it's relevant:
a funny one is the people who just start attacking you for no reason.
I was a tyrant one game and a granger starts spitting at me. I ignored it for a while and eventually told him that if he continued, I'd kick him. He stopped.
After the 3rd or 4th person just attacks me for no reasons without apologizing, I started kicking people for it. Kicked a bunch of idiots who thought it would be a good idea to hurt an admin. (I can accept if I got slashed when there was a human nearby or if I came around a corner and they were sitting there, or if they were running away and I took damage from a charge. But when I'm in my base or walking toward the human base and someone walks up to me and starts attacking me... lol)
It's called friendly fire... some people are just too friendly.

Playing a game s3 on s3. Were mopping up the alien base when we get a chat for help froma builder. A few tyrants had slipped through. We run back to base fight them off but now the aliens had recovered and start a constant stream of tyrants. One breaks through our front line turrets and all the others start to follow. Were standing on and behind the secounf line of def. Some of us die then ppl start yelling for other ppl to get off spawns. Not one but two unnamed players were lagged up on the telenodes. Lagged up as in walking animation but not moveing O_O We lost becuase they were so lagged we couldn't kick them....

People who don't know how to attack. It's fairly easy to run into a poorly made base and take out the OM/reactor. The hard part is to get anyone to attack. Spamming "OM/reactor down!" "Attack, they are weak!" don't seem to help..
In worst case i've taken :overmind: down 3 times in a row.. most of our team was just happily standing on turrets. Well some people like to take it to SD and then lose miserably i guess..

Yes, but I've never seen them in that strange position :) . They were only standing there like they were AFK.

You know what pisses me off?
When you got only one med station and it got put in a cramped place. You always got about 3-4 people running up and standing on it to be healed and grab some ammo or whatever.
I can deal with this.
But what pisses me off is when I see some idiot run ahead of me and jump on it only to have it flash for like a second to heal that 5hp he lost and he takes forever to grab his BS and Luci. Meanwhile I'm sitting around without my medpack and only 10hp left because I was fighting a tyrant that could plow through the 3-4 turrets we have left.
I usually just shoot people if it gets to the point of being bad.

The ridiculous auto-map-download "Speed". I'm in no way a programmer, and therefore I'm oblivious to the "logistics" involved in this Automatic Download protocol, but Jesus, I was downloading "cumshot vids" TWICE the size of these maps, back in the day of 48K-52K connections, at Twice the speed. Is it an inherent flaw in the protocol or server bandwidth restrictions? either way, it pisses me off.

A game server has better uses for it's BW than providing a user with a map he forgot to download :o

*Forgot* to download? The first thing I do when I encounter a new map (not for server bandwidth conservation I must admit, but for selfish "I can't be ****ed to wait that long to download directly from gameserver) is to disconnect, exit, and browse tremulous.info for maps. When I don't find them, well (which is why I'm answering to THIS post), just pisses me off...
