And as the topic is here anyway: Check your router settings and all such stuff! Some computers or routers need specific settings set before they actually let them be connected to. otherwise the server won't be visible or reachable for other ppl. :)

Dont host one at your house, buy one at a data center.

just find an empty server and play on it
