I made my tremulous folder, and thats where i save all my stuff to when I download new maps and such, but the game, on the other hand, seems to like to save in a folder that it keeps making itself. The folder is in Documents and Settings/My Name/Local Settings/Application Data. Whatever this folder is, everytime I delete it, it comes back, and this is where not only my screenshots save, but I've also noticed if I edit my autogen.cfg, the new one saves into this folder. Can someone tell me how to make it so that my screenshots and autogen save to the tremulous folder that I have picked out, and not this other random folder that keeps reappearing?
This is working as expected.
:O How do I fix it to make it work as I expected it?
You shouldd better change how you expect them to work since this is official Microsoft policy and that all the recent and future games do it like that.
:( I thought for sure when I first started playing the first screenshot I did saved in the folder I wanted it to save in, instead of saving in a hidden folder inside of a hidden folder
Well, on that point it's true that the game isn't doing it correctly I think. It should place it's files in "My Documents/My Games/Tremulous"
OK...so now im confused. Are you saying its supposed to save in Documents and Settings/My Name/Local Settings/Application Data/Tremulous or in My Documents/tremulous
In :
"Documents and Settings/My Name/My Documents/My Games/Tremulous"
Which isn't a hidden folder at all.
Well, currently its saving to Documents and Settings/My Name/Local Settings/Application Data/Tremulous
and Local Settings is a hidden folder, along with Application Data. So now that you know my problem, do you know how I can fix it?
I can't fix it, and neither can you fix it unless you have the tools to patch and recompile tremulous yourself I think.
Or maybe you can indeed configure the location which I doubt. In all cases, a bug report should be submited about that unless there is one already :)
computers > me
I know just enough to get by...I guess I'll submit that bug report now...
I personally find that using a screen capture program is a much better solution. My personal favourite is FRAPS. Its really easy to set up and use. Otherwise, you might want to get your computer checked out :)

well thx for the help...
I'll have to agree with the people that posted, don't drink and drive.
This is the new TJW backport at work. I don't really have a problem with it (hey, I'm a geek!), but there might be a better local location than Local Settings.
On the plus side of things, the backport now lets different users on the same computer have different configurations (my brother and I play). Thanks TJW!
