Indeed, you'll never make a good map if you don't try.

what exactly does the error say? i can think of 2 places something like your description might happen

if you have an intel mac, it might be better to just use the windows version

Nice try...

So you actually thought you could foul us and make us believe you were mapping something really nice by using a random picture of a forest from another website ?

First he could use a proper English, so that we may understand what he is really talking about (all his posts look like as if they were written by a complete moron). I m not asking for perfect English (I know mine is far from perfect) but at least something we can understand. In this post you have absolutly no way to find out what he is talking about (email ?? whats the relation between email and mapping ?). For me it looked more along the lines "Ok i had a problem, now its fixed and i can restart everything, but i saved a screen shot from the previous version on my email"

Second, anyone can post a picture and say "I'm gonna do this". No one cares about it, until you actually produce something.

Third, with Quake Engine, you wont be able to do something like this. I m not speaking about the details/resolution, but the fact that it is wide open space with some models in it which will kill framerate easily.

So instead of pretending to make miracles, he should actually map something and then show some ss (i don't care how it looks like or even if it is unfinished) instead of pretending to aim for far-fetched goals.

If he actually produce something, i will be the first to apologize. But right now, all his posts (even in other topics) sounds like the posts of an idiot (check his post about his "clan") who doesn t know much about the game and its balance.

My god holy knight. The triumverate of Moronic Mappers is in session. What part of this kind of map not being possible in the q3 engine due to frame rate handling did you not understand?

Not even professional mappers have fully gotten around the issue with wide open maps...ie. id softwares team arena. 99% of the terrain maps lagged like a bitch despite the engine being modified to 'handle' such maps.

If ID software couldn't get them playible/enjoyible. You n00bs don't got a snowballs prayer in hell.

That sounds to me like a lame excuse after getting caught for directly plagiarising another game. Please stop with this garbage, and learn to map.

Grow up,
Revenant
