when i get to the first menu, and press play, my comp freezes... my comp is pretty new, so i don't think there's any compatability problems...

Do you have any firewalls? This happens when Tremulous can't get a connection outside your computer.

In other words, go to ATI's website and download drivers that actually take advantage of your hardware's OpenGL support.

A PC is a type of computer. Probably, it is best to use the term for its meaning, a description of the use (or intended use) of the computer. Then the question arises of what is meant by "computer", the software or the hardware?
