Actually maybe I still need help. I was palying Tremulous over Fall Break and I downloaded the .exe file form http://trem.tjw.org/backport. It gave me a unique GUID # and I have admin rights for the clan I'm in. The problem is, is I did all that on my dads computer at home. -.- I am now on campus again. Between me never using the same computer twice in a day (usually unless I'm extremely lucky!) and the fact that the campus uses deep freeze (program "resets" the computer to all the default settings when deep freeze was put on each restart), it is now questionable whether or not I will be able to admin witohut changing my admin rights every frikken day. Is there anyway to take the GUID# from my dads comp and be able to "use" it else where so I dont have to get my admin powers redone every day? If not, what does someone with a lot more knowledge than me suggest? I'd like to be able to admin my clan servers...but can't cuz of the fun random GUID# thing.

You should be able to just copy Qkey into your other tremulous comp. Only problem is the backport seems fussy to say the least. It might work , it might not. Screw up your trem and find out.

Ok so when I get my dad to send me up the #, how do I go about putting it in place of the 1 that I will randomly get? I'm not familair at all with teh trem console so do try to make it simple. :P :tesla:

copy this file from your old computer to the new one
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\qkey
(<your user name> will be different on the 2 computers)

Then all i need to do is copy paste and it will find the right file yes? Cuz I dont have a user admin name set up yet for the computer I'm currently on. Will that be a problem? If so should I jsut make 1 so I can over right it?

you don't paste it into the file, you copy the entire file, and the user name is not your ingame name, it's the name of the windows account you are on.

WOOT IT WORKS! I recently found out tremulous will run off ym external 12gb hard drive. I was tired of w8in for my dad to email me teh #....so I made one up copied it into the base fodler on my 12gb and low and behold, the GUID# stayed the same from the comp switch I did! woot. Thxs to all who told me where the file was and what not. WOOT!
