Title: tremx backport
Post by: vcxzet on October 24, 2006, 01:48:24 pm
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tremx/tremx.zip?download
well I guess it will run with 1.1.0 binary
extract to your tremulous directory
then select tremx from mods menu
---------------------------------------
special thanks to Greudin for hosting it
---------------------------------------
source code is not directly available but you can get the code for svn version
from
https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/tremx/trunk
(tremx.sourceforge.net)
then
replace
cgame/cg_syscalls.asm
game/g_syscalls.asm
ui/ui_syscalls.asm
with the ones from 1.1.0
search and replace all _PC_ with _Parse_ in those files
---------------------------------------
thanks to wolfwings for enabling me to release a 1.1.0 compatible version

Ty Vcxzet ! GGJ!

I tried there :

tremx.bricosoft.com

Code: [Select]
./tremded.x86 +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg +set fs_game tremx +set net_port 27960 +ip 88.xx.xx.xx

Invisible basi is awesome =)

Is there a howto for compiling it on FreeBSD ?[/code]

Just played my first game on the bricosoft server,
and I'm already addicted.

The advanced dretch flies better than a goon,
and it is damn hard to kill!

Greudin, the mod consists of pk3 files only, if you
are able to compile tremulous on FreeBSD,
you should be able to run it.

im assuming you extract the .pk3 files to your base folder?

Does anyone actually play it?

i hate it with a passion. humans spawn as tyrants, it laggs a lot, it nerfs aliens and gives humans some really crappy upgrades given the alien upgrades. i'm avoiding it like the plague.

sorry about the rant, i know you must have worked hard on it, but it needs more work.

wth a bug that allows you to spawn as tyrant? stupid me
do you think lag is related to the mod or your ping? if it is the mod that means I am doing something really wrong

i mean on sst tremulous if i go as human and spawn with a rifle i see things as tyrant unless i buy a new weapon. i see other players in the list with a tyrant icon if they use rifle and the model is drawn as a human without a rifle.

also on bricosoft where my ping is _always_ 50 in the morning i get 200+ now with this mod.

sst tremulous? what does it have to do with tremx?

weird, seems to me like its a bug in your tremulous data and not the mod...

you dont extract the pk3s, just extract the zip and u should get a folder called tremx, copy that into your main tremulous folder. In linux, its /usr/local/games/tremulous/ . it should be the same folder which has a folder called base in it.

btw: there are a few people playing it on tremx.bricosoft.com and i think it still needs balancing but it is definitely playable.

on sst tremulous they have this mod. here are 2 screenshots of what i see.
http://usera.imagecave.com/marlowe13/shot0109.jpg
http://usera.imagecave.com/marlowe13/shot0110.jpg

btw, on bricosoft i don't see these things happening, just the unusual lag.

when is the mod running on sst? i just tried the main server, no difference
Title: tremx backport
Post by: [Kcorp]Noobius on October 26, 2006, 10:26:02 am
it was a messed up install that caused all that. works fine now, but the unbalancing stuff still stands. thanks to vcxzet for help.

tremx is supposed to be balanced? I thought the point was to make a horribly broken Tremulous while making it fun.

I downloaded it and am having some problems.Trem X says

that i am using the defalut menu.txt or something whenever i start a game.Anyone no the solution?

I also keep some backup files of the old version of trem x on the same place where Trem is installed.Could that be the poblem?

Edit:Problem Solved.

Just needed to delete all the old Trem X files.

it should be no different than on linux (make sure you have make, gcc, and sdl headers, get the code, type make and pray it works)

I was wrong, no need to compile,  put tremx/ close to base/ and add +fs_game tremx in the command line of server.

I don't know rly if it got fixed but on the bricosoft server, there is a bug with the jetpack.
The bug is when you look to the others back you think he use noclip cause the jetpack is missing and sound.

erm nothing? why do you think so? jet pack was not showing after I added new upg
for some reason only first 8 upgrade works for models/sound (enum upgrades_t)
ui_main.c was modified for server browser
(but bricosoft is still running an older version so you can not use it to connect .maybe this?)

Laziness. I still have to set up a website on my server and enable wwwDownload. I don't even have ports forwarded, my software firewall enabling incoming traffic on port 80, or Apache running. So... much... work...

Humans got cool toys .. and aliens, well aliens suck
I got S3 alone by just camping almost inside alien base with lasgun , biokit, battpack and Ssomething (turbo mode for lasgun :P), at S2 teammate made me a repeater and I didnt even had to go back to base ...

mara snipe is useless, takes >4 barbs to kill turret (!?!?!), turbo dretch is fun, but dies fast from turbo lasgun :), adv goon is useless
jetpack doesnt make smoke/sound/cant see it on hummies back (!?!?)
