Do you even play trem now? kellar?
-
eh? original sounds are freaking awesome
-
I've used Odin's sound modifications for a while now, and I like them much more than the defaults.
-
Most of the default sounds are OK, but I thought some needed a better sound so I made that mod.
-
Hoe does the mod actually work, do you just put it into the base folder?
-
i tried that, it didnt work for me :$
-
It won't work on servers that don't run it.

Place it in the base folder.
Yes i did but when i start my own test server (not pure) there are no sound changes  Am i doing something wrong?
I just put the CFG file from the chaingun in to the base folder. Others has just the sound exaple.
Place the entire .pk3 into the base folder. Unpacking it won't work (doesn't work for maps anyway).
-
So after you get the sound pk file, do you have to go to console and type something?
-
No. You put the .pk3 file in the base folder. How hard is that to understand?

Woot is that a joke, I started playing trem when it released ( first day as UnnamedPlayer D: )
-
[comment close] jeez :-?
-
I believe that the file you DOWNLOADED is pk file =/
so all you have to do is put it in the base folder and the sound changes magically?
-
To make it short: Pk file to a pk3 file it would be easier to use when we download it :P
-
What's wrong with the original Tremulous sounds?
-
Uhm nothing hehehe  just want to test the sound mod :)
-
What's wrong with the original Tremulous sounds?
Nothing. I just thought that a couple of the original sounds sounded weak for the weapons they were assigned to.
-
OK, :(
-
What's wrong with the original Tremulous sounds?
Other than jetpack being annoyingly loud for such a craptastic sound?

Heh, it's far from overly loud...
-
Have you ever tried to fly around for some 5 minutes as builder?
your ears start to ring if you are not hearing impaired.
-
Be careful with this mod, once you delete it your sounds go messed. Possibly it's a bug in the game, but after I removed the pk file from my base folder flamer sound etc sounded awful.

Nothing. Personally I much prefer the original sounds to those in the mod, especially the machinegun - I have fired similar weapons before, and the original sound is much more accurate.

Er, that shouldn't happen at all. The mod does not modify your game in any way; the game just reads that pk3 after it's already loaded its own sounds.

I don't know how you managed that - deleting the pk3 just reverted trem to the original sounds for me - as Odin said additional pk3s do not modify existing game content. Did you do anything other than place the sounds pk3 in your base?
