Title: SatGNU Stats
Post by: rapha on December 11, 2006, 05:18:41 pm
Hi all,

a couple of players on SatGNU have already seen it, now here's the forum announcement :-): SatGNU has TremStats running for it now!

URL: http://schattenschreiber.org/satgnu

I'd love to read your comments, wishes or criticism either here or on my according blog entry, http://schattenschreiber.org/diary/articles/2006/12/10/satgnu-stats (of course, comments about the tool itself should go into DASPRiDs bug tracker ;-) ). The special addition that isn't in the default TremStats distribution is the inclusion of pictures from Faces of Tremulous. (Example: http://schattenschreiber.org/satgnu/player_details.php?player_id=1459) -- so make sure to keep those pics flowin' to Lava_Croft!

Cheers,
Raphael

No offence Pacra, but when do you ever play on SATGNU?

Is ff off on satgnu or are the stats bugged?

Found it a few days ago, pretty good though there's a couple of things missing like teamkills.

* rapha gently takes Lava_Croft's hand off his butt
* rapha looks at DASPRiD

FF is enabled on SatGNU, but the server is not yet patched to write TKs to the log. DASPRiD is working on a workaround for unpatched servers also. So whatever comes first comes first.

Tanasinn: whotf are you, anyway? Never seen you on SatGNU...

Pacra: Have fun with the stats, looking forward to fragging you :-)

I don't actually play on Satgnu, that's why i directed my congratulations toward the players there.  Stats are sometimes fun to check up on  :D

Ya, Dasp got his workaround out just half an hour ago and I regen'd them :-)
(Edit: Gotta love it -- now I'm Top Player #5... no 0.03 TE anymore. YAY!)

Yeah, seams like the workaround is really working. So I could do the 0.6 release very soon :)

Of course, SatGNU is just a european failure that bans Americans.

That is why I said it sucks. In my opinion.

well to be fair I have to say that this is the only GOOD thing that happens on satgnu, too many retards with >200 ping join euro servers just because they are on top of server browser list.

as for stats, nice, but I cant be arsed to play there, too many noobs :(, its really a holiday when you see a good player there.

suxorz, Gryf is the only one with decent efficiency, i dont like tremstats "Game-time factor" :/ it makes average server campers look better than less playing skilled ppl.

There's a treshold at 25 games. Below 25 games you get a very low game time factor. DASPRiD explained why it was like that, but I don't quite get it still - made sense tho :-)

WTF?!

Code: [Select]
Games played   1641
Game-time factor 0.22
First seen 05.12.2006 | 18:58

1641 games in a little more than a week?  :-?
Title: SatGNU Stats
Post by: BodyOrgan on December 13, 2006, 02:51:17 pm
No, no. The first seen date is incorrect. It's the same for everyone. I think the team kills still aren't being tracked either. I'm not for sure though.
Title: SatGNU Stats
Post by: Pacra on December 13, 2006, 05:57:17 pm
Team kills on boom boom aren't being tracked.

I'd like to know how Oblivion killed someone with a Hive and with Basilisk gas though
Title: SatGNU Stats
Post by: squishy on December 13, 2006, 06:05:26 pm
Yeah. The games.log doesn't display timestamps, so DASPRiD picks up the dates by the date the log parser runs. So First Seen is the first time the log parser read the log with the player online.

And no I haven't patched the server to track team kills. Doing so leads to a decision whether to wipe out all current stats, so things start from scratch.

Post by: rapha on December 13, 2006, 06:08:53 pm
You BoomBoom guys definitely need to update TremStats from SVN, delete the databse, import the new structure.sql/data.sql and do a ./tremstats.py --reparse. There's something positively fucked up in your stats.

those stats are broken, and im sure of it, svn update and reparse this shit
new tremstats tracks teamkills without patching the server

Pacra, If I'm not mistaken the basilisk gas actually does a bit of damage, so a low hp human should die. I don't know about the hive however. You'll need to get DigiFad to clear that one up.

I love how you Euro's like to put down anything that isn't Euro. The stats do a fine job in letting you know that as of today you don't play enough Tremulous. That is all I intended to show you, and if you think the amount of times we've played is bogus, well then you aren't paying attention to other servers player count often. Boom Boom is filled pretty much the majority of the day. It's damn hard to get on it at night.

well are you stupid or are you stupid? I played on boomboom and i know that even MY stats there are broken, parser/logs/database has a bug

Somebody got to more than parsing. The reason I asked "WHAT" was broken, was for more info on the update. I have to patch the parser to work on my server, and didn't feel like going through the hassle. But I decided to go ahead and do so - to see what the big change is. I do note that the update has made the parsing very resource-intensive.

And for DASPRiD... I posted my patches that we discussed previously on your bugzilla site.

rasz_pl, you wish to call me stupid when you can't even comprehend what my post was about. It was to show that Nux, you, and whoever else on those servers do not play nearly as much as they think they do.

The statistics aren't so broken to tell this incorrectly. Your head may be however.

BodyOrgan: (it wasn't you) but the thread started out pretty much with an American bashing "anything that is not American" (i.e. our Euro server). Nevermind tho :)

digifad: Sry then, misunderstood you. DASP should have a list of changes somewhere. I do know however, that parsing got a lot faster for me (Quad CPU Sun server tho) during the latest developments. Why do you have to apply patches for the stuff to work on your server? Did you hack your server??

I agree that it is faster. It just makes MySQL work a lot harder - causing some hard resource pings. Not a big deal!

The reason I have to patch the code is because I'm using a Windows OS dedicated server (yeah yeah). I've submitted patches to DASPRiD's bugzilla site, so maybe I won't have to patch in the future. :-)

Well, SatGNU doesn't have that prob since the parsing happens on a machine that's different from the tremded serving one. So I didn't even think of that :-)

About the patches, even tho I'm a Linux nut I'm also strongly for portability and making it happen. More power to your patches, may DASPRiD apply them!

Didifad: You can avoid this problem through setting the nice-value of the MySQL daemon up to something like 5.
