Title: license issue
Post by: get on December 21, 2006, 10:46:47 pm
in order to prevent some kiddy discussions with other packages maintainers, i ask here for the licenses to be able to redistribute the game in a .deb pakage for elive linux.

so if the dev team agree to this, we can start to work on the pakages for elive.

many thx

Tremulous is already distributed under a specific license, and so is the media. If you do not understand the terms of those licenses, you should consult a lawyer (you should have done that before starting a Linux distribution where 90% of the software you distribute will be under the same license).

In fact (http://www.tremulous.net/index.php?section=faq),

Q: So wait, Tremulous is free?

A: Tremulous is based upon the GPL source release of the Quake 3 game engine. As a result the Tremulous code is also licensed under the GPL. This means that not only is Tremulous free in terms of monetary value, it is also free in the sense that you are free to use and examine it.
