Can anybody help me, what are the first 5 steps to enable admin rights on ur server?
1. i have downloaded everything
2. i have tried the programing in setup files(not sure if it is correct)
3. gone through the whole /rcon stage but i dont think im setup for that yet.
4. not sure where to put files that i downlaod fro tremulous ( i jus put them all in the same folder
5. I've put about five months into trying this, it seems everybody wants to keep it a secret which i understand(u can help me explain over mail if you want to keep it private), but i am a huge trem fan i play it at least 3 hours a day, i would create a great server as i have great software as well a computer.
if someone could help me by either send email or msg on here it would be greatly apreciated.
thank you

Here's your problem. Read installation instructions (http://tjw.org/tremulous/SETUP.txt) again.

1) make the directory:
\Documents and Settings\YOU\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\vm
where "YOU" is your windows username.
2) copy game.qvm into this "vm" directory
3) copy win32/tremded.exe to where Tremulous is installed.
(next to tremulous.exe)
4) open up a command prompt (cmd.exe)
5) change to the directory where you put tremded.exe
6) run it:
tremded.exe +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg
i gote up to number 2. 3 confused be becasue tremede is already where tremulous is installed(do they mean put it in the new folder i jus made)
where can i open up commandpromp?
Where to i set dedicated server?
sorry

Here is a simple guide to doing it in-game:
Assuming you rcon password is bob, then type in your console:
/rconpassword bob
/rcon !setlevel Cart 5
Viola!
You just gave Cart Level 5 admin.
For a more complicated guide, see the other dudes.

Hint: Old tremded can't load new game.qvm.
Hint #2: Old game.qvm has more holes than Swiss cheese AND it doesn't support the admin system you want.
Now answer a simple question: Do you need the old tremded?
