I'm probably doing something wrong or not looking in the right place, but is there some way to change the view from 1st to 3rd person?

you can only do it on servers with cheats enabled, setting cg_thirdperson to a non-zero integer will change your view to third person.

Not quite true, on servers with the "Balance" mod you can use /viewOut and /viewIn.

balance mods 3rd person mod is better than the normal one but still unplayable ... just for fun maybe

Guess what? This is the Tremulous forum for Tremulous. Would you report a bug on the Tremulous Bugzilla for mod XYZ?
Don't say that what mod XYZ does makes a specific about Tremulous invalid.

in trem unbalanced mod all aliens grab wallwalk, walljump, and spit
all human weapons changed with self recharging death machines
but I've found a bug ... it should go the bugzilla
