There are some things that everyone wants in a mod.
Some things people have asked for and the modders delivered, such as Alien Grenades.
Here are idea that keep coming up, but haven't been implemented yet:
Humans:
Medics
Active Camouflage
Remote Detonation Charges
Mechs larger than Battlesuits
Aliens:
Flying Aliens
Aliens with trapper spit
Flamethower Aliens
Carrier Aliens
Anyone more have ideas people keep asking for, or comments on stuff I already have?

I want a larger map, so those mechs and carrier will actually be useful.
I wish there was a mod like BF or some other "huge" battles. Where the map is huge and stuff ;)

for a while now ive been switching bewteen games, trem and a game called SliverBack (Savage) another freebe.
its a RTS Mixed FPS, 1 commander but all your battle units are players.
max players can be up to 124 omg and thos games are fun and insane lol.
so just think wat trem would be like with 124 players, huge map.... chaos ... insanity.... i wanna se it lol

The biggest savage server i saw was 64 players. and it only had about 20 in it

well MC Artman and Rob/Flux/Fluxflashor and me are making a total conversion of trem with vehicles and big maps and maybe a recourse to collect

Something everone wants... advanced dretch. Also dretches that dont block tyrants or goons. These sortof got done with biledretch and dretchpunt, but there were lots of other ideas for them. Also, dretches that can wallwalk up a battlesuit.
What i want in adv. dretch - not exactly flying, but wings that let it jump a few times while in mid air. Using stamina like human jumping does, it would run out of flap and fall back to earth after 3 or so hops, and need to sit still to regen stamina. It could have slightly better air control than usual as well.
Jump direction should be up compared to the view, like the way goon pounce is forward compared to the view. You could get a pretty good pounce going, by looking down 45 degrees and hitting jump, jump, jump. Or get out of a tight spot by looking up and jumping a couple times.
On savage, I have seen 64 player servers full, and other servers that werent full, but claimed they could handle more than 64 players. Those big games are crazy though. Savage is best with about 16 people.

You cant jump, but you could boost yourself even without wings. Think of flying squirrels (well they sort of have wings...)

No organic being in existance explodes. :D
Think of epoxy glue, two separate harmless compounds in two separate sacks, mixed together become explosive.

(if you havent noticed aliens in trem are inspired from arachnids jumps(pounces walljumps) and wallwalks but that is all)
Actually it seems they are inspired more by insects than spiders and lest we forget, there are flying insects. :)
(Arachnids have eight legs, the aliens only have six!)

How would that work (well)? Plus, the trapper shot is probably overpowered... stick with the slowblob.

trapper shot locks only for 5 secs and granger should attack in this period
or keep shotting and wait for a stronger alien :P

I think that we would all like to see [YOUR FAVOURITE TEAM] with pimp weapons and abilities, but you have to remember that you need to keep balance. I think that the human medic s a good idea but the other human ideas are not. Flying aliens are an ok idea but the maps are mostly small or confined. The flying aliens would also have to walk like three-year-olds to compensate for the human's crappy jetpacks.

Of course everything needs balance.
Medics need ammo to heal, as so to preserve the human's base-dependency.
Make the flying alien into a scout unit, with a weak attack to defend itself and take down jet-packs.
Give active camouflage little or no armor protection.
Allow remotely detonated charges to be disarmed by crafty aliens.
Flame-thrower aliens have ammo that is slowly replenished over time.
Carrier aliens would be bulky and not have any natural defenses, intsead relying on their cargo to protect them.
Trapper spit aliens would need another alien to come over and finish the job.
Mechs larger than battlesuits... I'll get back to you on that.

If you're willing to put some brains behind the extra modelling tags (spinning wheels) and vehicle physics. Attach a driver player (needs a new human anim). Any rider players are just glued to the seats and able to aim/shootm just like Tribes.

Aliens need a grenade. Biledretch isn't my idea for a grenade.

I have an idea for a alien grenade; how about when a smaller alien (Dretch basilisk adv basilisk) gets boosted, for the boosting period enter or middle mouse button sprays acid everywhere like an alien building exploding.
Just my two cents.

There's a type of ant that can and does make itself explode when fighting rival ant colonies. A sort of walking grenade.

The Chasm is a home for flying things, to an extent vehicles I suppoose
People will build maps around the game, not the game around maps.

On topic: I like the flamethrowing Alien idea. For Humans I'd say a sniper rifle would be hot. With a scope that doesn't get disabled by every third server. Especially if it shot darts (remote detonator or radiation sickness, please). Plus I want Dodge, Dash, and Lean. kthx l8r...

The only reason why we dont have absolutely mega-uber-ultra huge uber maps like that, is cos large open areas arent good for the FPS.
The best bet is to shrink everything, like BenMachines way cool mod.

i think tremulous needs to move to another engine if it wants to support BF2 like battles.
1. trem is free and open-source, bf2 is neither
2. every game would become an outdoor campfest, because the bf2 engine cant handle indoor environments
3. trem is set indoors, so it wouldnt fit
maybe there will be a port when id tech 4 is gpled, but it will be a long time. it is possible to port to xreal tho. (im trying without much success ) :(

I want func_breakable support for mapping! That and vehicles, which is entirely possible in the Q3 engine, Jedi Academy have flying, hovering and walking vehicles. Wheels however are prone to animating difficulties, as the wheels normally jump back to their 1st frame of animation when the vehicle stops.

Spawn the Reactor/OM with 25% health to promote moves (but taking the same time as now to reach 100%). Allow to rebuild armory in SD to stop aliens waiting for SD. Promote some way of human outbase healing. Medics have been mentioned, if no medics, out of base medpads could include a turret. It's a weird idea, but should work.

Tank for humans. Some balancing creature for aliens. I am working on skins and models for those. Will need some coding help though. But I will give more details once Ill get the models on the good level.

I don't think Tremulous would be that good with vehicles. The Q3 engine can handle vehicles, it was done in Jedi Academy, but the output was crap.
On the note of Tremulous in another engine...I was thinking this before. If the DooM 3 engine (Quake 4 engine) ever comes out, we could have Tremulous using it.
OR, wait for a DirectX 10 engine source to come out.

No, no, no, that is what is called tactism and strategie. The reason SD is here is to stop games going on for 60 minutes without a kill. The other reason is it gets the player to use tactics and startegies.

Implementation is simple.
Take tyrant, re-skin it, same movement, but limited turn speed and acceleration. Not that hard to make. And the weapon + turning turret is same as human body, made out of 3 (?) separate parts.

But it fails, cause with the current balance nor aliens nor humans attack on s3 when both teams are of similar skill. Aliens know human team will be useless in SD, and humans need to drop down aliens evos to attack, which doesn't happen cause aliens don't need to take any risk but just camp. This is really the biggest balance issue in Trem and should be fixed. Right now SD is alien's paradise. I don't really care if it's one way around or the other. It would also be fine if aliens also get some building that can't rebuild and won't allow them to evolve anymore. It can't be the OM, tho.

Stop alien regen, shut medistation down but give all humans medkit and let aliens get full health on evolve.

Well... for me... Uhh... Ehh...
I would like to see more powerful Maruder... A bit... it's electrical attack isn't really as strong as it should be... I mean that it have so small range. You can score a hit only when you are just over your enemy or you are touching hummie's legs already. But not as powerful as in BalanceMod... There they are best unit in whole game. Just to make their eletrical attack has range smaller a bit then Tesla for exemple. (Well... it has such range, but you need to be much closer to turn that attack on) :advmarauder:
I would also like to see more powerful Granger. :> Those blobs are good, but stronger melee attack would be cool. We see blasted alien more often then hummie's killed by Granger. :granger:
Also I think that there should be some better a bit s3 hummie equipment. In duel Tyrnat vs bestequippedhummie the first one usually win. :tyrant:
Nades are good, but for me their throwing range is too short and timer is too long. :grenade:
I want also new head/visor for BS. :P :battlesuit:
I would like to see some weapon like MD, but with higher firepower... Usually such weapons deal 85-100 dmg. ;] It would be far too much in Tremulous, but 38 doesn't make it.
I want explosives! Grenade luncher, rocket luncher, anything! :P Low fire rate, small clip, but high power.(much lower then luci of course-as projectiles are faster and theres no need to charge your shoot)
Hmm... i thnik also that it is way too easy to burn yourself with flamer. :P

What about a spit that bounces once? or sticks to a wall and explodes in a few seconds?
Make grangers able to use their spit to increase other aliens defence up to 50% (if a lot of grangers).

Nah, you need a buildable that acts like a bank. For those killwhores who have 2000 creds, but don't want to share. But if it gets destroyed, bye bye creds :'(

For the medic, simply give the option to instead of carrying a primary weapon, to hold 3 extra medkits, and "fire" them at players that need them. Or, perhaps a "backpack" type thing (eg, jetpack, batt pack), so you can hold them + a weapon, and activate the pack in the inventory to "fire" them medkit at the needy player. The player who receives the medkit should have it added to his/her inventory, so they can use it at their discretion... ok idea? It's sort of like the Rant healing aura, except limited (but much faster) in scope. The backpack should also be able to be refilled at the medistation only, so, if you buy it from arm, you must fill it at medi, because it's empty by default.

Rather, it should auto-start a kick vote by the console for that player. It's waaaay too easy to kill teammates by accidentally triggering you grenade instead of jetpack (I've done it). This give the player some seconds to explain themselves. And yeah, deconning while such a vote is in progress = a good idea, although it could be abused... if you don't like a certain builder, just keep votespamming them so they're useless. Max kick votes for one player, by another (same) player, should be once per 5 mins. Another player or the console can start a vote for that player, but not the player who first called it under 5 mins ago.

i think maybe
adv. dretch can shoot web from mouth so it can acses high up areas without climbing around and the web can stay for a period of time to leave a trace of where they have gone for the humans
also
humans get jeep like cars which have turrets on every corner, they could cost maybe 4500 and only the buyer can drive it.
the aliens should get some new form on stage three that they need to be a tyrant and have 9 evo's to become a weird truck thing that adv. basilisk and below can ride on, this would be covered in acid tubes, as well as (depending on how big the passengers) can shrink in size to fit through air ducts.
both transport would have 1000 health and the weapons would be destroyable, if the transport dies then it would explode like a human build and kill all ridding on/in it, they might also be able to be built on.
