you know the poll i started, well it appears that so far most people think the administrators on their favorite server are tight. so i suggest if you are an admin(in-game) loosen up and stop kicking and banning people so much. no-one likes a kick-bot, in-fact they're usually glad when your not on. you can still vote! http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3141

That could be because your poll had no option for "The admins are just fine" or something similar.

True, but considering that 15 (16 now that I have voted) people voted in that poll (most of who didnt reply by the look of it...) could be far away from accurate. For a question such as that there cant really be any effective estimating.

I'm sure admins are perfectly aware of what they can do and dont need a pointless topic to tell them what they can and cant do.
A good admin will never kick or ban without a valid reason.
As for "in-fact they're usually glad when your not on", where did you hear/'find out' that load of bullshit? I'm sorry but thats just stupid and I dont believe it accurately reflects what Tremulous players are like at all.

False. People dont like "kick bots" when they are the ones being kicked or doing something wrong.

If your just going to vote and not use your admin powers, why be an admin? Any player can just come along and vote.

By the way, most admins are so tight because they aren't used to being screwed in the ass by players dying for a bit of recognition.

Who the f*ck are you to tell admins what to do? I also find it hard to believe that people can be happy when server admins aren't around because without them paying for the server you wouldn't be able to play there. (btw hi all i'm back from my holiday)

meh, what i noticed in trem is that most admins are assholes
there a few servers with cool and nice admins out there
but most are PL/CZ/BR or w/e servers and those admins kickban with or without reason if ur not from the same country... farkin racists

I think the most important thing as an admin is to remember that your job is to help the players have fun. I've set up TeamKill Olympics on meep once or twice, because the players wanted me to. This is despite the fact that as a GameArena op, I really shouldn't do it.
If you're going to punish someone, at least make it funny. I remember a while back one player was stealing nicks. An admin renamed him to "cockmongler" and kept him like that for 20 minutes. Everyone laughed, and that makes people enjoy playing more. Even the guy being punished thought it was funny. Humorless robotic morons just aren't fun to have around.

I think the Trem-Decs are entitled to get respect for their work, and they do have real power. Be it only a game or not.
But they made a game we spent hours with...
So please get your act together and don't confuse "governments that want power on the net" with "people on the net that have power".
It might surprise you, but power is power, no matter where. There just is no such thing a "fake power".

Yes, we let the server owner pay for the server, we let Adelator tell him what to do. Makes total sense to me.
