Today i got kicked from the "Satgnu! have fun" server by "jhaa" for saying "booster has a healing aura, you regenrate 2x as fast".
His response to this was "NO IT DOESNT, BITCH".
This may have had somthing to do with the talk me and Lava Croft had about Puma[F]lame being better and more legit than him, but (surprise surprise) Lava Croft couldn't handle the frustration of someone being better than him, so he ended up calling me a "twat" (ouch lol).
Also Lava Croft wouldn't stop moaning about people camping (hah s2 v 40% tyrants 60% goons v a couple rifles). What do you expect?.
He also sent a public message to all players on the server saying
"CAMPERS!"
Im not telling you this because i have a grudge on santgnu people, (im too lazy to keep a grudge) im just saying this to warn people that if you go on satgnu's server, just make sure you follow the rules (1. Assholes get admin! 2. Run out and feed, because if you stay in base for 5 seconds or more you get biached at non stop CAMPER, CAMPER, 3 Lava Is better than anyone else, because he says so! he can do whatever he wants, he gets to play god because he has admin!) and you will have a very fun time on satgnu. Good luck.
Edit: This server also doesn't allow polish people on it (go figure).
They claim that they arent being racist, but infact they are.
Treating them like they are all the same is prejudice, racist and wrong.

So, does anyone actually care at all that a person from clan [F]lame got banned? I mean, apart from the fact that they are total retards, they also promote the usage of stuff we from SatGNU don't like. So I don't care what reason jhaa gave you for the kick, any reason is valid for a [F]lame member. I don't see why you people keep coming back to our noob and abusive server. Don't you see we do not like you? Please play somewhere else.

Also you greatly exaggerate our little 'argument' about boosters. But I have to admit I've always thought your regen increases when you are boosted, not when near a booster. So sorry for calling you a bitch.
Also you can't really comment anyones picture on "The Freaklist" as Puma puts it, since you apparently are too ugly to post your picture there ;)
It was your attitude that earned you this ban, and this topic just proves I did the right choice.

Since you started this post, i have avoided SatGNU since some time myself.
Onetime playing there while getting new ammunition, a fellow human started to fire shots at me (blaster i admit).
I told him, if you want to point out something, use chat.

he didnt ofcourse say potato.
Anyway, it aint a big deal. Like him, play there, don't like him, go someplace else. Its really their server.
There was an apology for your incident, which i think shows basic good intentions.

Let's clear few things up.
Major differences between server admin/operator/owner and "normal" player:
-Admin/operator/owner can say what ever he wants. Normal player can't.
-Admin/operator/owner can ban/kick/mute/rename whoever he wants. Normal player has no power over this, so stop the fucking moaning.
-Admin/operator/owner can set password, close the server etc when he so wants. Normal player again has absolutely no power over this.
Now think how it feels to the admins when you post crap like that on forum where it does not belong to.
What if some random people came in to your apartment and told you that you smell? You would propably throw him out.
What if the next day that random person posted an article on a local newspaper about how you mistreat your guests?
Now I think it's about time forum moderators start acting and removing these idiotic topics from the forums, since they don't belong here. What SatGNU/other server admins do has absolutely nothing to do with Tremulous.

But it gets kind of sucky if there is really no protection of names and one never knows with whom one is dealing with.

jfyi... Not all admins are cowed if you try to police their servers or try to tell them how you think they should run their show.

I am not named Lava_Croft in Tremulous. Nor do we have any admins that will use the name Lava_Croft. Also, I cannot recall ever having used the world potato :o.

Ahh yes, but you forget the main rule, one which you may choose to abide by or not depending on the content of your character.... DONT BE AN ASSWIPE.

Their server has the reputation for being the most strict. It's their server and none of their rules seem ill thought out, they keep a clean game on their server for which kudos goes to them.

here's how it works:
he has rights, you don't. by connecting to the server, you agree that anything he does to you on that server (which does not maliciously affect your end) is fair game. if you disagree, you disconnect.
if people disagree with the way they admin, then they will not play. if they do not play, satgnu will not have players. if they don't have players, then they cannot wreak havoc with their admin as you guys so eloquently complain about or the server will go down.
stop complaining about it and do something. disconnect. and shut the fuck up.

I wouldn't say SatGNU has bad reputation, we're almost always full and we get requests for priv slots every day. Actually there's only few people complaining about things. Mostly you and Puma.

i like all the satgnu admins and i've never had any problems with em

The mentoined things happned while i was on the server.
And i got to say:
All involved persons did something wrong.
For Lava: he did use bad language.
For Jhaa: he banned too fast.
For Me: I shouldnt have sent the "Campers" center print but that was more meant as a joke anyway, since i know a few rifleman cant do shit against Tyrants or adv. goon.
And for Solo: It was obvious that you tried to force a confrontation.
And what do we end up with ?
people whining/complaining/explaining in forums, trying to ruin someone else's reputation.

at any time ..
you can come to #satgnu on irc.quakenet.org an complain directly by talking to me, the server owner. that would have been the more mature and wise step if you actually want to change the "flaws".
but as it seems that is not your intention.
its rather to blame the server and tell people not to play there.
anyway this will not change anything at people playing on satgnu.
we mostly have like 25-40 people in our irc channel (including people from poland which are regulars on satgnu).
that means even if you would totally ruin satgnus reputation in the public.
we can still have very good games just with people which are in some way assosiated with us.
So either solve the problems like grown up do by talking to the involved persons in a serious manner.
or go ahead with kiddy-ish forum flaming.

Well, depends on who it really is, doesn't it? Me, doesn't take me long to figure out what name Lava_Croft is playing under, but now with that "Neo" guy, that's a whole different story! We URGENTLY need somebody (TJW! HELP!) to implement an Anti-Neo-Renaming-Himself-Patch, no RLY!

Sob... Some non-admins has annoying binds for campions. I think that u just react to this more becoz Lava is somewhat famous figure in Tremulous circles. Also u react to admins personality more than normal players... If u really take a wider picture, u will see that there are much much more gayish ppl playing than admins who indeed are also just ppl. We also have bad days even though it is really obvious that u think us to be total authorities with boring personality. And really, if someone calls u low-skilled, would u really crawl under bed and cry "u are right, SOB".. eh
Usually also more deeper thoughts are better to be talked @ irc or here. Sometimes, have to be honest, I really have no intrest to talk, just frag all and win.. And if someone whines, arg!
And have u ever thought that is is very boring playing aliens, all dretches and all humans with bs and luci/chain camping in base... Boooring! Campions!!
And btw, u will NEVER have skill what so ever if u just camp.

U have a problem and the thing is that u can't really affect much in the way Satgnu works. Sure u have an opinion and u really can't do anything else than, well, proselytize ppl like Jehovah's Witnesses..
There is other servers with other players, admins and with different variables.

There is no doubt that there is more forum activity thanks such wonderful topics full of flamewars with name calling, grammar nazis and all that. But I think the board will still be better without that.
