1. Find out what your video card is.
 a. Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information
 b. (on the panel) Components > Display
 c. Name: <blah>

It is likely that the blah blah blah will either have NVIDIA or ATI in the name, if it does then you can go to NVIDIA's driver page here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp and ATI's drivers page can be located here: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

2. Download the driver according to what categories you fall into, your Windows version (..., 9x, 2k, XP, Vista) and your video card's model.

3. If you have problems with this or your card isn't ATI or NVIDIA then post again with info on the card and we'll get you the help you need.

Current Vista drivers are terribly broken. Get rid of Vista, problem solved.

XP is bloated, I install win2k when i have no choice but to use windows (except on my laptop, because sony is a bitch and won't let me install drivers for my hardware from anyone other than sony, and sony's drivers only install on XP)

Yeah, Win2K and a shell replacement FTW.

If you have Vista then you possibly have support for it and your computer, call them up and bug the hell out of them until you get it solved.

And as for WinXP vs. Vista, Vista supports DirectX 10, Windows XP doesn't...luckily that doesn't affect me as I don't use anything that involves DirectX, just OpenGL. However, if you use Vista and OpenGL you're in for a bummer, it passes OpenGL arguments through some MS API or something that is as good as an old version of OpenGL, which probably isn't as pretty as it could be.

well...is vista gonna throw out some drivers to enable open gl anytime in the near future? cuz if not, thats a waste of a radeon, imo...
