I recently installed Windows Vista and now when I try to play Tremulous, the screen is dark - too dark to play.
When I attempt to go into the Options menu and adjust the brightness, I get "SETDEVICEGAMMARAMP FAILED"
I have the latest Nvidia drivers for Vista. I did not have this problem with XP.
I saw this thread, but didn't see a solution.

Attempting to set r_gamma gives me the same error.
Hoping someone can assist!

Just a follow-up...
It seems this is only an issue in full screen mode. In window mode, the gamma is fine and is adjustable with /r_gamma #

maby just a bug in gfx drivers?
New drivers tend to have such.

Don't install Vista! Especially if you intend to play OpenGL games. At least, wait a few months for correct drivers.

I figured as much. I'll just play in window mode until nVidia gets things straight!
Thanks!

Got a solution, I run Vista Home Premium x64
I thought it was too easy, but I gave it a shot.
I added tremulous to my games section (just drag the tremulous executable to the window and it will create a shortcut for it) Then edit the shortcut and turn on compatibility mode for Windows XP. After that I never got the error again and the slider worked perfectly for adjusting the brightness.
I'm using the latest nvidia drivers (100.65)
Good Luck! Now back to playing trem :3
EDIT: OH, forgot to mention on the shortcut, make sure Start In: has the correct path in it, in my case that would be
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Tremulous"

The best fix for windows problems is installing linux.

Excellent, thanks nosnap :)

I believe that this has been fixed in mgclient and tremfusion, but I'm not sure if it's the same bug.
