Title: Banning Options
Post by: Rawr on February 06, 2007, 11:23:27 pm
We all know that tjw's mod is the most widely used, mainly because of its user-friendliness and power. But, bans are easially evadable.
With R1, you cannot evade the bans. I don't know why this is. Anyone know?

I found this: It explains different sorts of PB bans. As you all should know, PB is the most powerfull and widely used banning utility for 3d fps's. \

Would these be possible in trem? By rcon only?

Generate the qkey off the hardware...
I like that.
Makes it so much harder to change, and would fuck noobs, and anyone with out codeing skills.

Yeah, it would fuck them for, oh let's say 5 minutes until they find a special version with randomly generated qkey at launch.

And now, you've pissed of a lot of regular server admins who cannot even change their computer and still be considered admins.

dudes... just take a look at pb-guid-circumvention, the code is even OS.
There is NO way to ban someone, except by banning his ip-range.

I know. It doesn't mean you should give up though.
Make it as hard for them as possible.

I wish Timbo would get R1CH on the TremDev team so we all could be saved and live happily ever after.

If only trem wasnt free, and had cd codes, then we could ban for real.

Wait, never mind, then trem would be, ya know, EXPENSIVE!
