I personally want to see a city based map. Much like in Halo 2 with . Erm. cant remember. Oh well. So what do you want to see?
-
good ones.
-
Good balance, no campsites (e.g. platform in Procyon) and well detailed. Size isn't much of an issue for me as a "good sized map" largely depends on the number of players.
-
The story on the main page mentions heavy cargo liners being destroyed in alien attacks, so I think it might be interesting to have some maps that are blatantly and obviously spaceships.
Also, I'd like to see some maps that take place in alien locations, like perhaps mines or abandoned alien cities or something along those lines.
Seffylight's Diary of a Mercenary (http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1660) makes good inspiration for mines.

I was thinking about a map with a lot of doors, lifts and other stuff that needs buttons to be used. It would be a spaceshiplike setting, so the walls should look metallic like. And yes, Pulse gave me this idea, i love Pulse.
Note: i'm not a mapper (although i am willing to learn because i want to be a game dev when i grow up :P)
Added: or maybe a map with a lot of vents, a couple of big rooms but almost no halls, only vents, which don't stay at the same height, but dretches and jetpacks can move up and down at a couple of spots aswell. (i hope people can understand it :P)

I agree with bazuka i want a map like halo2 (HUGE HALO FAN) a large out doors kinda like a island with a city on it and like huge buildings or like one center building as if like a tower and when u jump off it u land like in the center of a area that can be mainly used for a massive battle with some debris from blown apart building or cars or some thing like that. any thing like that would be cool

I want maps, not talking about maps.

Then Make Maps!
This forum is for mappers, not people who want maps. We choose to discuss our works here, or get ideas for our works, and your comments are not helping.
I am currently working on a powerstation map. It will be centered around some sort of reactor core.

I think that is what he does
-
No, he just whines about everthing.
-
Ooh, a powerstation.
Something like the base of the atmosphere converter from Aliens would be cool, i.e with a sort of alien base with "secreted resin" and creep on the walls and such, placed in a human industrial setting of some sort.
-
I vote for an Airbus A380 mid-fly
Engines burning and a hole on the side of course.
-
lava has a map hes been working on, for the last 6 months.
-
As supposed to the current map themes we have in Tremulous, like "industrial pipes and catwalks" and "cargo room full of boxes"
Seriously, maps like Thermal and Ancient Remains give a nice change of pace.
-
i want a map where ur on a miniature planet and you can see the bend of the horizon :D
-
I'm looking for people to help contribute to a StarGate Command + Offworld Gate Location map if anyone's interested...

I want a map with a lot of halls and doors but not wide and big. More compressed like the Arachnid2 or Niveus: Outpost 652. Its needs to use vertical space.
I think the current crop of maps are way to big and wide for beginners to learn and to be fair to humans. Its funny, people find a way. But the original maps I feel had better useage of space.
I also want maps that have long approach routes but faster escape path. A perfect example is Transits big hole and stairs to the left of the default human base. If transit had a human only elevator, it would be perfect I think.
-
I am looking forward to the SGC map. the halls are all round so good luck with that.
I converted my earlier map into a different scenario. It will be a human spaceship with an alien boarding craft latched onto one side.
-
Frankly, i want more "human" feeling maps. Pulse had that feeling, it felt like humans actually lived and worked there. I am sick of these maps where your way in the back of something somewhere, and its all industrial. Transit was "human". Arachnid is not.

I got an arch prefab from one of my sources so i'll just copy and paste that for an hour and a half untill i get a nice section of hall ;)
-
A suberban map, with city streets. the humies start in a building, and the aliens start in like a boiler room somthing.
-
rather than aliens starting in a boiler room they could start from a spaceship that crashlanded on the skyscraper in front of the human base. Or down the street

The map I am currently working on has a bunk room, a mess hall, and other human like areas so far.

I'm thinking I want a MYST-themed map or two. Probably that 'treehouse' level in the original. It'd be cool.
I might actually get around to it, but only once I've finished Medusa CTM. Nevermind that my mapping skills are nowhere near good enough yet.
-
Look at it this way, evil labs, space freighters, boilers, vent cores, reactors, planet bases, are all old clichés in games. Halo 2, while there are a few things in this environment, breaks the mold. It has city streets, landscapes, lakes, forests, etc.
-
i'd like to see a maze map. it would be entertaining.
-
I hate maze maps.
I, as many other players do, tend to get lost, and that really sucks.
-
Didn't some guy make one called labyrinth? I dont think it was actually much good, though.
-
i second the airplane in mid-fly.
that....would be fun
-
DRETCHES ON A MOTHER F***ING PLANE!
-
EXACTLY
i want...........
-
I want a trench warfare style map.
Mentioned in another thread.
There are human advantageous areas, and alien advantageous areas, and they neither line up nor connect across the map, you have to pass between "us-land" and "them-land" to travel sometimes.
