Title: Becoming a better human

I'm learning a lot from the alien thread. Since one of the players there offered, can you give advice to n00bs on being a better human also?

I think learning to play Quake (that is running backwards, and jumping or strafing while firing) seems to be a good start. Stick together seems to help. Defend the builder and the base. But what else should the n00b know?

crouch if you wanna piss off a dretch going for a ground headshot :P

get grangers then eggs (if you have all the eggs secured and no grangers can run)

You have to attack and destroy the alien base, and kill the remaining aliens to win.

Turn up your mouse sensitivity.
improve your aim

to kill dretches all you need are ~1-2 secs accurate burst of rifle

you only need one clip of accurate shotgun to be able kill anything else (except tyrants, they take too long without a luci / help)


now strafing is another thing,
Use the sprint key a _LOT_ to circle, back, and side strafe.
Takes a bit of practice, but yeh, you survive longer.

For one, the dretch hitbox is bigger than the dretch, and stick up above it, the center of the hitbox is located about the back of the dretch.

This can make for easier aiming.
