Tremulous Timedemo (http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3442):
1024x768 default settings + r_smp 1
3067 frames, 32.9 seconds: 93.2 fps
Just running around by myself in atcs I hit 1000fps fairly often...
so yeah it works fairly well. ^_______^

Glad you guys won Moddb competition; hope you enjoy your new rig. :granger:
-
Oh wow, it's so beautiful. u__u
-
Congratulations OverFlow! Let's hope it does not make you forget the framerates on Siege even more!
PS: i need a computer like that too
-
Can I have your autograph? :P
-
Meh, i tried one, and it is slower than a Mac Pro, which is a really good gaming system. Buy, install bootcamp, play. There ya go.

Alienware desktops are nice (if overpriced, i can build one with the same specs for about a grand cheaper) but whatever you do do not buy their laptops. I got the area 51m about two years ago (the 5500) and I have had nothing but problems with it, it constantly overheats and all they will do about it is tell me to "raise the rear of it, or use a cooling pad" which I have done, they have refused to replace the obviously broken fans (loud clicking noises) even though it is still under extended warunty, and of course if I open the case up and do it there goes my warrenty. It amazes me at just how good of technical support they have for desktops but don't even seem to car about the 5500 and 7700 laptop owners (if you search google there are tons of people with the same laptop and problems as me). I am trying to sell mine right now and build an AMD system (I can build a quad core system that still comes under the resale value of my laptop, alienwares deffinatly have resale value). I hope your experience goes better than mine (which it should, I have heard nothing but good about their desktop support).

nice cat. i like the color.

well wha i wuz thinkin' waz dat dats hottt. Can I have it? :-)

Kicked.

Nice rig, so is the case being auctioned off?
-
Oh and their cases look butt ugly, and are a pain in the ass to mod.
-
Post the specs OverFlow!
-
My friend jury rigger his dell 4600 into an alienware case. Its freakin huge, I wish he would move it back it takes up all my desk space. That pc is awesome, I have a question. Does your fps go down in transit on a full server? or uncreation. Or is that all because of the server.

I heard a rumor on the net that top Nvidia engineers with PhDs in quantum physics just recently came out with a quad core 8800 gpu powered by a 2000 HP cummins diesel motor with optional case mounting dual smoke stacks that can finally break the 30 fps uncreation barrier @640x480? Is it true?

Just comparing the specs, I'd say the Mac Pro has a better cpu(s) and this computer has a better video card. They run about the same price, and the one I got was free... so :P
The only game I've had any noticible slow down was Oblivion, at 1280x1024 8xAA everything on full. I've tried battlefield2, supreme commander, company of heroes, all with everything on full at 1600x1200 res and 8xAA and no slow downs. :o
-
Everything looks fine, except the OS. So install Linux :)
-
(.......wow.......)
I heard that alienware has one of the best pc's. I would commit a crime for such a computer :D
-
Impressive, but.. how much bigger will they make the eyes??!!
-
at 1280x1024 8xAA everything on full. I've tried supreme commander,
Oo omg.
-
la gitarra - pretty weird one :P
-
it looks like my old 486
-
All those people dissing your new rig are just jealous, OverFlow! Including the people moaning about your OS!
-
Wow-
it looks like you have 960fps more than me on ATCs :P
Ill get a Mac Pro soon though, so we can commence the battle of the beasts !
-
I've got to see this machine more closely!
Where do you live again? :P
-
sweet merciful crap. I thought the whole point of technology was to make computers SMALLER. Soon alienware will be shipping room sized mainframes as desktop computers :P
-
i don't knew about computers
but it does not suits color of the wall
but do not panic
send it to me
i paint it 4 free

Whaaaaaaat? You can run Supreme Commander without slowdowns at max/max settings? Even when there are huge battles and gazillions of units in the playing field?
Well, congratulations. Your PC totally rocks...
*sobs some more over only a few frames per second on Supreme Commander, low/low, 1024x768 on his Athlon64 3500+, 1 GB ram, Ati Radeon x700, which isn't really a nonrespectable machine (apart from the RAM and the graphics card, probably) but it still runs awesome Supreme commander like crap.. sob*
Nice cat. :)
-
lol, when theres action, he gets about the same fps as me 91/94 and i use an imac

-
I wish I had some alienware =/ Congratz.
-
I wish I had some alienware.
You can. Just buy some tupperware. It comes in martian green color. Just open up a lid and drop some old PC parts in there and shake it up real good.
-
Congrats.
-
Alienwares are just overpriced gaming rigs for retards who can't make logical economical decisions...Hate to break it to you... You good get the same pc for less...Do you really need all of that hardware to run trem...I mean...come on i get the cap fps on my laptop...(which of course is good) and i g4et 90 fps on MY alienware...

Read the thread :P
I got the computer for free, from Alienware, because Trem won a contest. Obviously one could make about the same computer (minus all the silly stuff you don't need) for more than a grand less, but it does take time and effort, and it still takes a crapton of money. BUT I GOT IT FOR FREE so, I'm pretty happy.
Do you really need all of that hardware to run trem
No, I put all the stats about Trem in so that all the people here could relate to it.
I mean...come on i get the cap fps on my laptop...(which of course is good) and i g4et 90 fps on MY alienware...
The 90fps thing is based on a very computationally intensive timedemo for Trem, read the thread and you can see the next highest fps a computer got was 54fps...

modeling time
-
You're a model?
-
i wonder what the result will be once lod models are produced

zomg.... nice :D
im gettin c2d e6400 and GF8800GTX soon... :P

Hey Overflow, you should buy the Fan Controller LCD for your Lian Li case.
http://www.ascent.co.nz/productspecification.aspx?ItemID=338818
Silver aluminum beige, so it would fit perfectly with your case.
Very nice rig by the way.
