Title: GeForce FX 5600 & Vista
Post by: pihug12 on March 11, 2007, 02:59:05 pm
Hello !

I have a GeForce FX 5600 and Windows Vista.
When I start the game, I have an error with OpenGL.

But there isn't a Vista driver for GeForce FX ! [only GeForce 6/7/8].

How can I play Tremulous ?

By NOT using Vista.
Your PC obviously did not come with it, so don't expect it to work.

Maybe I can test this one : http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_96.85.html
(french documentations : here (http://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=23&v_code=14449), here (http://www.clubic.com/actualite-39611-nvidia-des-pilotes-whql-pour-windows-vista-rc2.html), here (http://www.clubic.com/actualite-70420-nvidia-parle-des-problemes-de-pilotes-avec-vista.html))

I see that NVidia will release an update in the year 2007 for GeForce FX. Is it true or false ?

I'd rather stick to "Dont runnew crap on old crap".

Or don't run good hardware with software that doesn't support it...

Don't run anything that is crap.
I'm not saying Linux rules or what.
Windows XP clearly is better than Vista.
Installing Vista == dretch headbite to human.
You're left with 4 HP (or processing power in your case) and suddenly all other softwares start to TK you.

Put it in compatibility mode with windows xp service pack 2. xp was no better recieved than vista when it came out. now, everybody uses it. stay with vista, and in ~4 months it will work better than xp. make sure with the nvidia vista advisor that your computer can take vista though.
