Does anyone use it to zap things? The only time I use it is when i head bite a human and want to see some sparks fly. I know it has a chain, but you have to stay in fire for it to even do a significant amount of damage, and I don't want to get tore apart by turrets while zapping buildings, its much easier to bite then run.
While typing this this post a... smart?.... idea came into my head, since battle suits are metal i think the zap should do a little more damage on those guys, or map it would short out the suit, and make them walk a little slower, but no damage.
No one post some smart ass remark saying that battle suits have an some super cool protection feature, because you don't know. ;p

I use only the zap. I zip in, zap a few people, zip out. Then tyrants and such come and finish it off, and evo's start popping up for me.
-
Adv mara swarm is a really nasty thing. 5 adv maras will fry 3 battlesuits that stay too close together in a second.

It's funny to zap painsawers sitting in a corner.
-
ATCS's base, standard concave turret setup.. zap the armoury on your way in or another structure when you touch it just to do a little damage on your way to the top of the reactor.
I've suicided into the human base to zap 3-4 guys standing on the med after a dretch headbit them. 2-3 usually die if I can get in long enough. :D

Actually i think the battle suits look very non-metal....
Rather some kind of hard plastic so- there you go with the smart remark.
Smart sphlart..

Fuck you.
As for you guys that do use the zap, when are there ever 5 adv maras, usually people want to play goon. And also, i think it is faster to bite structures than zap them. However, i think running in and zapping, then leave, is a pretty good idea for quick and dirty evo, never thought of that. Probably work well too since there is a chain.
-
well thats not going to happen...but i do have some good news. as long as you stay within range, the zap never ends...so zap a painsaw and wait. free cred pl0x.

Are you talking about 1.2.0? Because currently it stops after 80 damage.
-
lag keeps it going

More like :advmarauder: :advmarauder: :advmarauder: if they had been using biting.
Yet another + to zappage. No tk's.

Or maybe just a ceramic armor

zappity zap zap
i use zap when people are running away and when i want to harrass people for no apparent reason and they have to run back to their base to heal and they go "f*** you" and I go "well f*** you to tyvm (thank you very much)"
-
you survive longer than a goon if you are a mara
but they both do the same damage in their life times
-
Mara is more leet than goon. It has to be used more complicated way than goon. You need to jump jump zap zap and aim right left down up... Faster you are, longer you will survive. For example, as mara+ you can jump into human base to claw hummies head and if cannot hit again, zap something you can and zap will reach human and he will die.
And the point of zapping isn't to be front of the human and zap zap zap. Jump around and zap, because zap ends only when human is out of range. Mara+ is also very goon in base destruction. You can jump around (or jump onto reactor) and avoid turrets and zap the base all the time. If you succeed, base is down soon, all of it in no time. Try to do that with goon or any other class. Well, and when there is 10 humans camping :D
Marauder FTW!

Does the AMara need to be aiming at something to zap?

Get the fuck out of my thread. btw, If it was plastic, the armor would melt to their fucking skin if it got zapped.
-
Plastic is a very good insulator, and would probably not conduct it if there is a path of less resistance.
Perhaps the Battle-suits have a metal Faraday cage outer plating and plastic inner components.

Big metal armor, feets on the ground, covers the whole body making for a good faraday cage.
Yep, battlesuit should make the user completly immune to zap attacks, although the battlesuit itself maight get damaged in the process :)
-
The user should be safe, but the suit should get fried, shutting it down while the zap is active. Cant move, turn or anything but hold the trigger down.
3 Battle suits held by one mara while the dretches eat the them.
-
cool tactic

okay you can ignore that for now but dont go on about plastic bsuits, and why wouldnt the user get fried? insulatuion?

Ever heard of a Faraday Cage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage)?
