Title: Tremded.ub (Mac version)
Post by: HotSoup on March 29, 2007, 04:38:49 am
So when I am in terminal and I'm right about to run my server dedicated to the internet and type in...

Code: [Select]
./tremded.ub +exec server.cfg +dedicated 2

I get this message...

Code: [Select]
Unknown extension for ui/menus.txt
^3WARNING: couldn't open music file ui/menus.txt
----- CL_Shutdown -----
Closing SDL audio device...
SDL audio device shut down.
RE_Shutdown( 1 )
-----------------------
Sys_Error: recursive error after: ^3menu file not found: ui/menus.txt, using default

I then read something about having to remove old "vms" files, which I had in my base folder, so I got rid of that but then got this message...

Code: [Select]
Sound memory manager started
Loading vm file vm/ui.qvm...
Failed.
----- CL_Shutdown -----
Closing SDL audio device...
SDL audio device shut down.
RE_Shutdown( 1 )
-----------------------

What will happen is that my screen will go black as if the game is going to load, but then it stops and goes back to my desktop. Now I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff, because I just figured all of this out on my own in the last 4 hours, so if you know how to fix it, then try and explain it as easily as possible. Just so people know, I have a MAC, which either complicates or does the opposite to the problem. Please help me!

Yes, the port forwarding I think is what I need. Because I am on a network and have a router, ect. The problem is how do I do that? I think I'll be able to figure out, but if anyone know specifically how to for a mac, that'd be appreciated.

Once I get this figured out, I am going to write the how to set up a server for MAC guidebook, because there is a definite need for such a thing. But hey, I totally figured all of this crap out within 4 hours, so thats cool, lol.

Depends entirely on your router, but you may want to try as a starting point going to system preferences -> network -> show: <your connection type> -> TCP/IP
Grab the address listed under "Router" and enter it into a web browser. If that doesn't work, give us a bit more information about what type of setup you have.
