Title: Tremulous Error (not OpenGL)
Post by: qov on March 31, 2007, 01:38:09 am
Every time I open trem I get the following error:

tremulous.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Right after everything is loaded, and the game goes fullscreen. The screen turns grey and I get that message. Anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? I'm running Windows XP.

Thanks =)

I've only seen this error when there had been some dll preloaded that tried to mess with the game.

Wallhack anyone?

Wow.. you're pretty quick to judge. If I was going to cheat, I'd pick a cheat that worked. -_-

But I don't cheat, and I hate people that do. I'm just asking for advice, cause I'd like to play trem again.

I recently reformated my computer, that's why I lost trem. I've installed all my drivers, though. I agree, it's strange. That's why I came here.

More constructive advice anyone? :/

Well, you said you'd like to play Trem again, so i'm assuming you've played Trem before? Is there any way you can revert to before you reformatted? Did you set a system restore point?

No, I didn't. :/ But I reformatted because of multiple viruses, so I wouldn't want to return to that point anyway. D:

Run Tremulous from command line and post the output here.

How exactly do I do that? Sorry I'm not great with computers. :/

1) Start->Run: cmd.exe
2) type: cd wherever\tremulous\is
3) type: tremulous
4) copy & paste

After I hit enter, Tremulous opens and the same error happens. There isn't anything other than what i typed in the command line.

Possibly a corrupted .exe. Try downloading and using a different client or redownload tremulous and install it again.

I had this problem with The mercenarys guild client because i didn't have all the .dll files that i needed. Run tremulous through comand promt and post the output here.

He's already done it. There is no output.
