So I dig the whole jump limit on humans... keep them from strafejumping and all, but could it be anulled when the player is standing next to a turret? That way players would be stuck in front of/behind turrets while escaping.
-
or you could just tell your builders to leave at least a small path
-
It's just tactical element I think it gives sertain challenge to make sure you can get in your base by saving some stamina. and if you think that jumping over turrets gives you trouble why don't you go bit left or right to let turret shoot the damn thing.
-
That only happens with b00n-builders *G*
Tell them to leave space for low-stamina players and decon the offensive turrets.
-
How about in Transit? I always get stuck trying to jump out of that base of the stairs thing, right by the human base. (The one that has the rail broke at the top level, and a small indent in the bottom, where I get stuck.. it's very bad, when a Dretch is in there with you & you're running low on ammo or health.
EDIT: How about when jump limit is on, it stops if there is a surface nearby low enough to jump onto? Like walljumping, except different... IDK if it's possible. Or, instead of completely limiting jumping, make the jump interval less ie you only have to wait 2 seconds for it to come back?
-
In Tremulous 1.2 you can jump straight up ten, that's right ten, times in a row, five times while moving in any given direction, and three times while sprinting in any given direction, you can also sprint about as fast as a tyrant charging by tapping x (or whatever you rebound sprint to) o.O
-
I see what you're saying whitebear, but what I'm getting at is not necessarily those times when you're trying to get home after a fight, it's those times when you're just trying to navigate the base normally. It can get annoying.
-
Exactly.. or trying to navigate your base quickly during an attack. The normal thing to do (in ACTS) would be to jump down onto the turrets that we placed pointing out the door, and leap from one to the other; which you can do, unless you've used up your jumps...[/i]

Hey while we're at it, a stamina indicator on the HUD would be nice.
-
i agee it gives aleans an unfare advatage. they can jump over there defences but humans cant is very unfare. i like pressing ado select and when i am aleans as a dragoon on s1 i wate for humans to come in there base and when they are wating for there stamima to recharge i ponce and kill em. as aleans once you are near you base you are neerly invinceible.

You're joking, right?

Not even. I don't see the problem, especially because 1.2 will give humans increased stamina... why not make it explicit and give the player some feedback? It's not like in real life how you can feel your own stamina level.

You haven't noticed the stamina indicator? How long have you been playing Tremulous?
Lower left-hand corner of your screen.

10 jumps in a row...wow thats going to a fun chase for aliens. An average stamina can take you from Human base to Alien base in ATCS with some left to spare. And i think we have had enough with turret campers already, we don't want them stuck there.

heheh I figured that one out earlier this evening.... odd that I only noticed it after I 'noticed' that it was 'missing'

I see it now:
First pic, stamina bar is down one point.
Second pic, stamina bar is down two points. Cool, this will make things a little easier!
