Post by: [NubS] Rabbitt on April 07, 2007, 03:10:12 am
I cant get any servers to come up when i open trem.
I have refreshed and got new lists all day long but i still cant see any server but the one i have running on my machine.

Any idea why is this happening?

So, your internets is fine?
Check your ip?
Server search thingies?

Mystified, I am.

Yes my interent is perfect.
I hasve no problems what so ever going or doing anything on the net but it refuses to collect servers and server info for me.

Im trying to figure out why my ip would have anything to do with it finding servers.

go here: http://tremmaster.quakedev.net/
and pick a server.
then in game do /connect <server address>

see if that works.
Also, do you have a firewall that might be blocking it?

Ignore ShadowNinjaDudeMan, he is just an attention whore.

There's a max ping command or something, I forgot exactly what it was. But if it's too low, you won't get any servers, because it will only bring up servers where ping what it's set to or less. The default is 800, a bit high, but yours may have been lowered to an extremely low level, making it so you can't get any servers to show up. If someone here could kindly give the command, you could check and if necessary change it.

Also, the new router is probably blocking the outgoing connection. Check the settings.

so.. your old router worked fine with trem... your new one has fine internet but can not get any servers... You have made sure you are looking for servers on the internet and not friends or lan correct? And I'm guessing you have hit "get new list", and "refresh list"? try opening your console ( the squiggly line, this thing: ~ and it will pull down your console. It might say there why you are not seeing any servers. Other than that, if still, nothing works, I would try reinstalling tremulous.

Thanks guys i got it running just by literally tossing the modem against the wall.
Dont ask cause i dont know i must have done something cause i uninstalled it, threw it, picked it up later when i need wireless connection , reinstalled and voila !
