What do you do when humans camp till S3 and then build a skybase while you're still S1 on uncreation?
Proceed to thouroughly own the bastards.
KobraKain, after you left humans got S3 and thought it would be nice to build a sky base away from us dretches. We were still S1. I pounced up there and thouroughly owned their armoury and a node, and that's when the rest of my team started going goon. Anyway, we proceeded to win that game proving that campers, never do win.
Final stats (I got "Aliens win" in there just for proof that we won):

Oh - and the assholes tried to call a restart vote right when their reactor went down. It passed, but we got to finish the game.

The two things I hate most in Trem are:
Vote spammers-
If the team they are on is losing, they will keep calling restart votes, different map votes or whatknot. Whenever I want a different map, I wont constantly make votes on it.
Spawn Spamming-
I firmly believe this is the n00biest thing you can do. One node left, and the humans are desperatly trying to spawn as builder to rebuild. But some uber-n00b tyrant just waves its arms around and soaks up kills, the n00bs way to high kills.

At least you dont stand there for 15 minutes just teasing the humans then at the end when everyone sees the n00b has 10000000 kills and says "Hey guyz, Im really leet, look at all my kills, I am so amazing!".
Then I think that n00b should have been drowned at birth.
Yet another reason why I think I should be given max admin rights on every server, n00bs would be non-existant.

camping is part of the game. if used correctly, it can swing the tide in your favor. after you get the edge however, you have to take advantage of it.

I agree, but this was extreme campfest. When you have S3 and the enemy has S1, you should be attacking.

Massive camping and they only have a max of 11 kills? Either both teams suck horribly or I am missing something.

LOL I remember half of that game, it was such a stupid game. :-? The thing is 100BPS doesn't support a skybase well. Though I wonder Plague how did you get up that high? Goons normally cant jump that high.
And also campers never win? You are so wrong. They have a high chance of winning than running into battle with rifles against a goon. It means that all the aliens are running into the humans base while a human takes the back route and owns the alien base unnoticed. :wink: Happened today on SST on the Hapertuna / Egyptian map , I took back route "the stairs", since the cave and the really really long hall was flooded with Tyrants. And the alien base was in the single door room. Bypassed as a Bsuit + lucy while the aliens were busy with the "campers". But seriously don't underestimate pro campers to noob campers.
I went AFK right after the Reactor went up in the sky. I was having dinner with the sound blasting...lol...and everything went quiet after 5 mins.

You know all those fancy diamonds on the walls of human base? They stick out enough for a goon to land on them.
And by "Campers Never Win" I mean extreme campage. You guys were S3, we were reduced to dretches, and you STILL hugged your turrets - that kind of camping never wins :roll:.

Not all players on the team are campers. There are usually just one or two players that go out of the base but are swarmed by every enemy. They someone starts telling them to camp because its feeding. And there is always that 55 minute stalemate.

Just come to our server and ask for a game, but I couldn't aggree more, we need both a restraining order on smokey and campers.
As stated before, there's a difference between camping because of stage difference(s3 vs s1) camping because of skill difference(Being faced by yahoo, orc, bloody demon, or any big name) and camping just cause you can't do anything else. Meaning you're s3 vs s1 dretches and still sit in base.
Even if you're s3 vs s3, unless the other team as a godly player, there is no need to camp. If you have helmet+shotgun, you should be out there killing stuff. Chasing goons and tyrants. Attacking aliens with chainsuits and such.
Moderate camping at s1 for humans is alright, not everyone as the skills to kill a dretch without an helmet. but thats no reason to camp at s3 with a battlesuit.

Shoutout to you because you joined the game but didn't get to witness the sweet destruction of the humans.
I blame TJW for my pounce and charge kills, Tremulous 1.2 has nulled pounce and charge damage so you dont have to worry. Since I play there (tjw.trem.org server - or something like that) as much as I do on A V A L A N C H E if not more I keep forgetting about the pounce damage on 'normal' (Tremulous 1.1) servers.
Oh- and we'll give Smokey his first loss once Seth makes the cut, and maybe some more people.

Camping is the best way to get yourself in a stalemate game. No win no loss, so if you have a problem with camping then do something about it a kill the campers and win the game. Camping is as bad as complaining about camping and campers and failing to kill the campers and win the game.
Those that can't win against campers are the noobs.
Plague did just that, I don't see you doing such things.

Thanks for the clarification, Bringer. I'm really getting an itchy trigger finger, but it might not hurt to put off a grudge match with Smokey till I get a better computer this summer...
I'm basically reduced a lagg-whore at the moment. (Except when my friend lets me borrow his computer, which is rarely)

My Tremulous time is sporadic at best. For some reason only 2 computers at the library run Tremulous, so sometimes I can't play cuz of all the fat middle-aged guys loking up kiddie porno. I'll try to play when I can, tho.
As for Seth, he's not one for talking on forums/filling out applications. When he gets a computer with internet, he'd rather spend every available moment playing. You could try convincing him ingame tho. Believe me, I've already tried, but you could give it a shot if you want to.
