I have decided, through a lot of thought, to start my own clan.
Before I discuss this, I'd like to say sorry to BodyOrgan, as I had been almost sure of joining his clan. But I slowly leaned towards starting my own. Once again, Body, I'm sorry. I know I was on your list of people you wanted in.
Ok.
No Tolerance clan (bear with me on the name):
- You must have a good attitude, be very competitive, have a good reputation, and also have a good amount of skill. As in, not "I'm one of the best" skill, but, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best Trem players ever, you need 8 or 9, which I would consider myself 8 or so.
- You must get Teamspeak ASAP if you don't have it already, I think the website is goteamspeak.com or something like that. You don't need a mic necessarily, but it would REALLY help. So long as you can hear me through teamspeak, you can play in clan wars though.
- You MUST be able to take orders well. I won't yell at you like Smokey, but if you screw up too much, I will kick you from the clan quite early.
- Have to be fairly active, even coming on once every 2-3 days would work. I know people have lives, and that takes extreme precedence.
- I'm sorry, but you must live in North America. Ping troubles are a bit hard to deal with, but more than that are the time zone issues. Once again, I'm sorry.
- I will repeat one of my first standards. You MUST have a good, competitive attitude. This clan will be focused on doing a lot of clan matches, pretty damn close to AS MANY AS POSSIBLE. However, the rules of our matches will not be TOO badly restricted. I'll be a bit flexible in that.

We've been starting off fairly well. Record: (W-L-D) 13-0-6. However, wins and losses do not matter to me. I only care about being known as a friendly, competitive, and fair clan.
When I give people co-leader status, they will be able to pick their own matches anytime when I'm not on. Like I said, I don't care about our W-L-D record.
One more thing. If we ever play a EU clan, they must agree to unlagged. I'm not messing around with "1 match at our server, 1 match at theirs." The outcome is obvious.

I do not know who will be joining yet. I have a couple people I got my eye on and want to ask to join, but I don't know exactly who WILL join me. The people I'm looking for are usually solo players only or already taken. So recruitment might take awhile.
@ Akanotu: No one do any "burns" for this or I will be mean to you in some fashion. :P I'll be blunt here...You're right, you can't join, I'm sorry. :( Don't take this...Man, I'd feel like a douchebag telling you not to take this the wrong way, but...After the only match in Zirra you participated in, we were pretty much ready to kick you from Zirra if you screwed up in the least bit in the next match...I don't want to say more.
Oh yeah, I'm not sure about a Trem server yet. Maybe sometime, but it might be a bit. I'm definitely not using my comp as a server. That would suck, as my computer is very good, but not that good.
By the way, my first idea for a name was going to have "Eclipse" in the title, but we (yeah, me and some other people kinda pondered over names. Maniac was the most helpful) couldn't think of anything that I found fitting. I might change the title to Zero Tolerance instead, but the tag (ZT) sounds awkward.

Names aren't that great but the innitials are cool. I know that there was a clan that used the DoD tag, but that was so long ago I could just be thinking up wild stories in my head.

After the only match in Zirra you participated in, we were pretty much ready to kick you from Zirra if you screwed up in the least bit in the next match...I don't want to say more.

It's not. NT now has its own server. NT|Clan Server, at the bottom somewhere.

Good luck. It's cool to see someone who is both cool in-game and level-headed around the forums start a clan. (No, that is not a jab at anyone else). Always thought it was cool that you were a good player but still a cool person. If you get the kind of players you're going for, your clan will rule. OK I'm gonna shut up now before the flaming starts.
btw, what is it that you have No Tolerance for?

Thanks, I appreciate the support, it really helps. Without all the encouragement I got to start my own clan, I either just never would have or it would have really sucked, but it's coming along nicely. We'll be doing a lot more scrims/matches now. +1 player too because Thrash will finally be able to get on Teamspeak on Thursday lol.

ZT just sounds like...I don't know, it doesn't click for me. If I get like 10 million pms to make it ZT, I will. But NT seems fine with everyone right now...So that won't happen. NT stays. :D

Im thinking about joining, ill try and find out in game.
A couple notes, personally ive found that in all clan matches ive ever been in , guarding the reac jump and the saw run was just part of the game. Everyone is aware of it in clan matches, and they watch it. I was in AoD and Sp and every clan match at least one person stayed back to guard the eggs/reac. Its part of the game and having to sacrifice one player during an attack is worth it, it increases the difficulty. (in ways) On another note, the clan server. Almost all clan matches are fought on ATCS, so, for practice purposes, maybe you should only run atcs on the clan server.

We don't practice, besides teaching new players a couple things when we have time. Also, a lot of people just play there for fun lately, so it will run the maps it's running now.

S/W Scrimmed NT and it was an utter slaughter. Good job NT and great teamwork. Nice hall pouncing dracone. Best of luck to you I see NT getting far. You guys should take on OPP if you haven't yet.

Thanks. You guys have good players, just have to pull a little bit together and you can do great. The only time "ultimate slaughter" occurs is when you either have a team of players who've been playing for a 1 week to a month against Tremulous veterans, or there's no teamwork. You guys have good players, just gotta pull teamwork together. Come up with your own strategies, make small plans. Don't make anything too big, it's a pain in the ass. :wink:
Most importantly, the players need to know when to go and when not to. If one goon is running away, I've seen people continuously spawn, die, spawn, die again. Don't get TOO desperate. :)

Then there's us, where I might be a bit too easy on the rules. I kicked/banned 2-3 people over the 3 or so months in Zilla.
By rules, I mean, I'm too slow to take action to kickable/bannable offenses. Getting into NT is a bit of a tough part imo.

Well, I've decided to allow NT to use painsaw rushes and reac jumps, after much convincing. Apparently it's not thought to be a "cheap" tactic like I thought it was.
They still won't be the first things I think of using in a match though. :)
They are one of the most important things to defend against though, and that's the first thing I think of for our builder on each team...They know how to make bases that can't be destroyed by those tactics though, so I'm not worried.

I'm glad you changed your mind about that. I don't think anything is cheap in a game, except certain glitch builds. Aside from that, if you have the option available to you, then take it.

Yeah, after all the opinions on how it really is a "use it when you can" tactic, I decided to let it go.
I'm kinda being a bit overboard on the "play fair" part of our clan. I'm going to get more strict about our matches now. Don't wanna end up getting screwed by a ton of losses, that's just bad. But still, we won't turn down a challenge, something Blazeraid doesn't agree with. The other night, he refused to match the Dwarves, forcing us to call off our match. Said he wouldn't play a clan that refuses to reveal who they are. You can imagine that I was kinda pissed, but it's all cool now.

I'm more in line with you on that one. I'll play just about anyone, but if he doesn't want to play then he doesn't want to play. Nothing can be done there.

Some gud strategies for clan vs clan play:
On Aliens:
1. Battle granger
2. Floor trappers
3. Groups of lisks and go after enemy base
4. If you have goon, do some granger genocide
On Humans:
1. Build only ONE node and put armories ALL around it, so that you spawn and can't get out without jetpack and you get swarmed by marauders. Maek gud feed pit.
2. Build reactor in one of the little niches at ATCS. And do that when your base is under attack, otherwise it fails, phor serius.
3. If you have a painsaw and you're going to rush, and a teammate says he'll back you up, saw him repeatedly. Backup is BAD.
4. Build turrets that float in air off of the edge of the base areas at ATCS.
5. Build armories everywhere instead of turrets.
6. Jettard all the time.
7. Build medistations so that they are engraved into the pipes in the back of the bases at ATCS so that pretty much no one can reach them.
Blazeraid was kind enough to show off these strategies/build plans in a scrimmage we had earlier. It went three rounds, and we ended up winning 2-1, but I won't say who, and shame on anyone who reveals the clan.

To be honest, that was both a frustrating match and the FUNNIEST match, if not game, that I've ever been in. Blaze is a funny person sometimes.

Appears that our server is online again, at least till the 20th according to Smokey. Any clans wanna rent a server from Smokey for 20$ a month? He'll take "2ish clans." He doesn't want to keep running the serverbox if he doesn't play Tremulous much anymore, so he only wants to pay about 10$ to 20$ out of the 60$. I'm going to see what I can do about the money right now for us.
The server would be a 20 slot server (16 open, 4 private), pretty much like the SGA and NT Server.
That's about it, I also updated the original post.

I dont think many clans are up for profit purposes dracone. Besides when were server prices so high?
