Title: Where are the models?
Post by: Bosco on May 20, 2007, 05:03:34 PM
In the entities section it defaults to tremulous/base/scripts. Can someone tell me where to find them?

The models themselves are contained within the main pk3 called data-1.1.0.pk3

I see the file in tremulous/base however I cant select a .pk3 file in the open model section in gtk. How do I use the .pk3?

The pk3 is a renamed zip. Open it with a zip program like winzip or winrar and extract the models you want to their original path. After that point radiant to the extracted models.

Should the editor be able to open up .md3 files as models? Gtk crashes every time I try to open one. What do I need to do with these. I just threw the folders in tremulous/base/scripts. Where is their original path?

Models are made and edited by special 3D modelers programs (e.g. 3DSMax). You can add them to a map using the entity "misc_model" in GtkRadiant; when you place such entity it will ask a path to the model (.md3 or .ase files); select the model file in your HD. Of course you need to find the file by itself in the disk, i.e., it can't be inside some .pk3 or .zip.

HD = hard disk (the disk on your computer where you store digital data) (duhhhhhhhhhhh)

Using Gtk you should be able to right-click the map plot and add entitys to the map. Right-click, select the "misc" submenu and finally "misc_model". It will only be available if you have configured Gtk correctly.
