Title: Strange FPS issue
Post by: cairenn on May 23, 2007, 04:27:56 pm
Hi, I have a really strange FPS issue since yesterday, when I installed the new drivers for my Geforce. Before it was 125 on all maps, but since yesterday it drops to 70 and lower on all maps.

I've looked around in the nVidia Control Center and found the Performance- & Qualitysettings (I'm not sure if this is the right name, because I have it in german), and switched from Quality to Performance. It helped yesterday, but today, I have this FPS dropdown again. I really don't know why, because every other game runs smooth, just before the driver update.

System:
Windows XP with Service Pack 2
DirectX 9.0c
DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2400 MHz
2048 MB  (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX  (768 MB)

My ingame Tremulous settings are high quality, 1280x1024 in window mode.

I also tried this (http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3802&highlight=tips+fps), but it didn't help.

Holy shit!! your a useless trolling cretin.

If the latest NV drivers are causing problems, then probably your best bet is to go back to the old ones.
Sorry if that sounds like a crap answer, because it is.  Is there anything you need in the new driver?
Also, I often play at ~20 fps, and would love 70 fps, so don't feel too bad about it.
