How about you change the 'GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem' error to say something more useful?
Even if its just a link to a page here, or a text file in the install, that has links to all the graphics card driver websites, and info etc.
How many people must give up just because of this error?
-
Do you mean that the message should contain the reason(s) why GLW_StartOpenGL() failed, if possible? Or just a list of places to look for help?
-
The reason, why the OpenGL subsystem cannot be loaded is not always, because your graphic card drivers are not installed. It can have multiple reasons.
-
Nobody will stop you from rewriting the error messages!

But 99% of the time its graphics drivers.

I doubt its a hard patch to write.
The question is what to write?
I doubt you can stick in a large amount of text there, and for lots of windows people, they will never run it in the console.
Maybe what we need more is a troubleshooting file in the default install, thet tells them to run under the console, and then has a list of common errors?
Either way, deciding what to make it say is probably harder than making it say it.

if you get a opengl error the console pops up after trem fails
